Hi and welcome to my blog,

I opened this blog to help anyone who is preparing for his SAT.
I remember myself when I started - I was so lost and in such a panic.
Luckily I got this great SAT guide that helped me a lot . So study hard and good luck!

why do i have to test connection ever time I want to connect to xbox live?
Im using my laptop to connect and it really gets on my nerves because whenever an update is available It restarts and then fails cause its not connected. It worked when I started but it doesn’t anymore.

The update won’t fail, just reconnect onto the internet again by testing your connection and the update resumes.

Mine requires testing the connection everytime I want to go online because my Xbox has it’s IP address hardcoded (i.e. it’s a static address I entered). My router’s (in your case, your PC’s) DHCP does not assign an IP to it.

(The router’s admin doesn’t have the means to use MAC addresses to assign open ports etc., pretty poor show – so this is the only way to do it for me so I can open Xbox Live ports to specific IP addresses.)

Anyway, I’m guessing you need to change your Xbox 360′s IP address from static to dynamic so it gets it automatically assigned from your PC.

I’ll put it simple for you. You need to change the xbox’s IP address to dynamic. It should automatically be set to static. Change it to dynamic and your problem is solved. Otherwise, you will need to test your connection every time you want to play online.

You can either do this, or you can bridge the connections between your PC and your xbox.
