Is free and very helpful for test prep – it’s good to have a mentor to help keep you on track though.

Well, I have a couple partial answers for you.
    - A great way to improve your SAT score is to study on your own. Regardless if you get a tutor or not, you will need to spend some (or a lot of) time on your own. This is a great stetp-by-step article I (a SAT tutor) wrote on how to study for the SAT: http://www.ehow.com/how_5396079_improve-sat-score.html

    - There are plenty of ways to get free tutoring. Many high schools will offer a SAT tutoring program or math/writing tutors. If you look for math/writing tutors you should be in a good position. HEre is how to find free tutoring: http://www.ehow.com/how_5425162_tutoring.html

    - Finally, online tutoring is really tough. You learn less and it is still a new concept. Your best bet is to find a friend that did well and is now in college that you can email with questions or skype.

    Best of luck!

Try taking a sample test, either online or from a book, and grade your answers. See if you can spot weaknesses. Is it careless mistakes? Do you get stuck obsessing over one question, then run out of time and rush on the rest? Are all of your errors in subject-verb agreement, or geometry? Then concentrate on your weak areas.

By the way, to email someone, click on the icon (their avatar or picture) to the left of the answer. Then, if the person allows email, there will be a little link that says "email <person’s name>".
