Hi and welcome to my blog,

I opened this blog to help anyone who is preparing for his SAT.
I remember myself when I started - I was so lost and in such a panic.
Luckily I got this great SAT guide that helped me a lot . So study hard and good luck!

I am ending my junior year in high school and have been thinking about buying a laptop for school and entertainment use for many months now, but I am not sure what would be best. I have tried looking through a lot of those computer rating websites but after looking I just want to give up. I’m not so worried about the price seeing as I will have this computer for quite a while, but I need these specifications at least:
—able to play DVD/CD (my current computer cannot anymore =[ )
---has a Web cam built in
---Can play somewhat graphics-demanding games (Especially Tomb Raider: Underworld and also the Sims 2, because my current computer cannot play this one due to its ghetto dvd/cd drive)
---and possibly a cool design on it? I love art and design and would love some on the computer.

As for screen size, price, and memory, I don't care all that much.
So If anyone has any idea on what could be a good matching computer, please let me know. Thank you so much! Hope you have a really awesome day! ^_^

(I have looked at MacBooks, which seem really cool except they are not gaming computers from what I have heard [lame!] and I also have looked into the HP Pavillion dv2800t Artist Edition, but again, I don’t know if that computer could play my games?!)

Well lets see i got my laptop from dell and you can build your own laptop online which is quite neat…if you want to get a built in web-cam you have that option as well…as far as playing your games and stuff and downloading your gonna want to have a decent amount of memory which will cost you extra but trust me its worth it..your computer wont be slow unless you go overly crazy with games, pics, vids etc….. check into dell they have some good stuff as well as the cool designs well i hope i have helped you out have a great day!!

Try looking at the dell studio 15 or 17: http://www.dell.com/content/products/category.aspx/laptop_studio?c=us&cs=19&l=en&ref=lthp&s=dhs

You can choose from like 30 designs and the ati 4570 and 3650s should be able to handle your games, and it has a DVD drive!

If you really want hard-core gaming computers, I would strongly recommend something from the Dell XPS series (http://www.dell.com/content/products/category.aspx/xpsnb?c=us&cs=19&l=en&s=dhs ). They are pretty much specifically designed for gaming (and they’re great at other stuff too). However, they are quite expensive (any gaming laptop probably is). I’m pretty sure they all have a webcam (I know the XPS M1330 does), but I would check just to be sure. If you only care about games, I would get the Dell XPS M1730 (http://www.dell.com/content/products/productdetails.aspx/xpsnb_m1730?c=us&cs=19&l=en&s=dhs ). It is very powerful. However, it is a bit flashy, and, therefore, runs a greater risk of getting stolen.

Also, you probably already know this, but do NOT get a Mac if you are gaming. It is not compatible with pretty much any real PC games, and using Wine may require all sorts of techno-configuration.

    Hope I helped!

get a dell, they start pricing from $599 for a normal sized laptop, and they are good, also you can add the webcam option for $35.

    -hope this helps

I have a Sony Vaio that cost $750 and it has built-in wireless, webcam, and a subtle but still artistic design on the front. I play DVDs all the time with Windows Vista and I also have like seven Sims2 games installed. I love my laptop. I got it at the Future Shop, but I don’t know where you live, so it may not be there. But I would definitely get a Windows computer, if I were you. Maybe research Vaio.

You should buy an I mac because of the web cam with HD quality inside. it has a very good HDMI hooker to the TV. you can play many DVD’s with Blue ray transmitter built in the laptop. This can play really good games in it. this is somewhat a gaming entertainment computer. Yes, there is always a cool design on I macs! if it wasn’t cool, then who will buy them? This computer costs around 1,000- 1,300 dollars USD
