Hi and welcome to my blog,
I opened this blog to help anyone who is preparing for his SAT.
I remember myself when I started - I was so lost and in such a panic.
Luckily I got this great SAT guide that helped me a lot . So study hard and good luck!
what scores are they expecting, and which scores go beyond the call of duty? this is the SAT out of 2400. The schools in particular im referring to are ivys and stanford.
Depends on the school. Ivies and Stanford at least 2200. 2400 would not be beyond the call of duty. I saw a post from an admission officer at Brown who stated he never saw anyone get in with a SAT score under 2000 – you need 2200 to be competitive. That’s just to be competitive – more would be better. Other private schools like Pitzer completely ignore SAT scores and there are all sorts of schools in between. I wouldn’t be too worried. Finding the school that is the best fit for you is the important thing. Regardless of what SAT score you get you will find a school that suits you. So do the Sat’s then decide from what schools you are interested in the score you got suits. You may have to cull some off and add others. But that’s al part of finding the right school for you.
Thanks
Bill
For Ivies – 2200 to be somewhat safe, 2000 with a good backstory — *maybe* a teeny bit lower with a really great backstory. And there are kids with amazing backstories.
