Hi and welcome to my blog,

I opened this blog to help anyone who is preparing for his SAT.
I remember myself when I started - I was so lost and in such a panic.
Luckily I got this great SAT guide that helped me a lot . So study hard and good luck!

My mother is 80 years old… but she insisted she wanted to try computing. I bought her a loaded HP Pavillion with entertainment options and widescreen display. She used it occassionally for six months and she called and said it wouldn’t turn on. The lights all come up but system would not boot. She shipped it to me and it seemed to be working fine. I used the HP support sight to check it out (re-seated the RAM and tested the AC adaptor) but everything looked good and finally sent it back to her. But after working off and on for six more months it has completely died. Now HP says they can’t/won’t replace it. All my personal equipment is Dell and works perfectly. The HP seems like crap to me. What do you think?

I have never had any problems with HP, ive owned 3 laptops and 4 desktops. It is probably out of warranty now, thats why they wont fix it. you should have sent it back and got a new one in the first place if there were any questions/problems. Im opposite from you, i will never buy another dell; customer service, if you can even call it that is horrible and they are made from the cheapest parts so they dont last as long as other brands from my experience. Sorry to hear about the problem but you shouldnt base your hate of HP on one notebook that didnt work and that you didnt bother to send back to hp while it was under warranty. just my thoughts. what model was it? just curious

I dont think they are that bad, let me know if you want it fixed, I have a account with HP and get stuff cheap and able to get unwarrenty computers fix under a warrenty. Sometime depending how old it is

I think that your manuel will tell you the same thing I am going to tell you. If you experience a problem like the one you describe you should contact tech support. They would have fixed the problem or replaced the notebook to start with. It sounds like you have a lemon. But if it is past it’s warrenty you can not expect HP to fix it at no cost or replace unless you have a warrenty. HP my very reliable computers, they are top of the line and are very well rated.
