Hi and welcome to my blog,

I opened this blog to help anyone who is preparing for his SAT.
I remember myself when I started - I was so lost and in such a panic.
Luckily I got this great SAT guide that helped me a lot . So study hard and good luck!

I got a 1900 total and an 11 on the essay. I’m signed up to take them again in October.

Math: 670
Reading:590
Writing:640

What can you suggest to get the reading in particular up? Vocab flashcards?

I already have had a tutor and a class, so I can’t pay for another. I have books as well.

Thanks!

Great Essay score by the Way. I recommend going to the library and just reading books. The Critical Reading Section wants you to read the passage and draw the same conclusions as the test maker. Use your test prep books to practice reading the passages and underlining and marking the important parts.

First of all, I can say that you must write well since you pulled 11. Nice. Review your grammar rules and study CB book hard.
Second, math requires practice. A lot of practices if you want to bring your score high, and you have to do math everyday, just like you eat breakfast every morning.
Third, reading. It is important to take practice sections, but also, like someone said, reading constantly is the key. It can be anything, just as long as you are reading something.

For other SAT question, discuss on my message board.

I know this may seem like a cliche, but just try reading a book or two. I got a 2000 on my SAT test this spring and the books I read in English class (as well as on my own) really helped. When you’re reading a book and you don’t know what a certain word means, look it up in an online thesaurus (thesauruses work better than dictionaries).

Also, a lot of the reading section is just testing your ability to comprehend what you read and be able to draw reasonable conclusions. Try to annotate the passages in the text if that helps. Then you can go back and pinpoint exactly where you got your answer. That way you won’t be prone to guessing and assuming.
