Hi and welcome to my blog,

I opened this blog to help anyone who is preparing for his SAT.
I remember myself when I started - I was so lost and in such a panic.
Luckily I got this great SAT guide that helped me a lot . So study hard and good luck!

As I’m preparing to move on to my sophomore year in high school, I am wondering if taking the SAT Subject Tests earliest as possible will look better than later test dates on a college application.

Instead of taking World History classes, I feel as if I want to commit my time into study and preparation for World History SAT Subject by using World History workbooks (such as Barron’s, Kaplan, etc)

To those who have taken the test: Was the test difficult? Did you take time preparing and studying? Do you recommend taking the World History class first and then the test later a better decision?

The best choice of test date would be right after you finish your world history course. It won’t look any better to the colleges if you take it earlier. In fact, taking it earlier may hurt you if you don’t do well, because the colleges will still see that score if it is low. I’d suggest taking it in June at the end of your sophomore year, unless of course you are on a block system and will be finishing the course in December/January. Then you should take it in December.

That test is only offered in December and June.

Advice on studying: Get a test prep book anyways and start working on it close to the end of your world history course, or 5 or 6 weeks before the Subject test. Study the book hard, and take practice tests. I took the U.S. History SAT and not the World test, but the same advice still applies.
