Hi and welcome to my blog,

I remember myself when I started - I was so lost and in such a panic.
Luckily I got this great SAT guide that helped me a lot . So study hard and good luck!

I was going to buy a new computer but i don’t know what to buy Laptop or desktop. I use a computer for school, sometimes games, videos, browse the web, other things to. i want something that is fast, and doesn’t take a long time to load because i have high speed internet. But a laptop is small and dose not take up alot of room. But desktops screens r bigger and nicer. For laptops u have to buy a wireless router, and wireless printer. Not for desktop….i have previously owned a desktop and hav a printer ,So, what to buy???

PostHeaderIcon How do i connect my xbox 360 to the internet through my wireless laptop?

Ok here’s the deal, i have my laptop and xbox 360 which is on one side of the room (this is quite a long room, not sure how long but i dont feel like measuring) and i have the desktop computer in the other end of the room which is connected to a wireless router. What i want to do is connect my Xbox to my laptop and then using my laptop connect to the internet, just in case ill put a little diagram:
XBOX 360 <ETHERNET CABLE> LAPTOP <WIRELESS> DESKTOP/ROUTER <INTERNET>

Now ive been google-ing around and have found many people asking the same thing and others sharing their success in connecting and saving the money instead of buying a wireless connection for xbox, i have tried a few of these methods and none have yet worked, i have tried: making a bridge connection between my wireless and xbox cable and that didnt work and just plain connecting the xbox to my laptop and wirelessly connecting. i have tried both multiple times and nothing seems to work and aside from this topic sometimes my laptop doesnt recognize the xbox and when i do xbox-laptop connection test it fails. sorry for the long question but i really wanted to express in detail.

PostHeaderIcon Sound feasible? USB wireless card, connect to router to have two laptops use same wireless card?

i have two laptops, a wireless usb card i just bought for one of the laptops.. i want to be able to run both laptops off of the same fee i’m paying each month. hubby says get a usb to ethernet connector, plug it in to the wireless router we have currently and then they will both work from there. does this sound right? its not like he can test it out.. he’s in iraq right now and i need to make a decision before i can’t take this wireless card back. thanks for the info!

PostHeaderIcon My internet speed is the same as the speed I get between computers in house. How is that possible?

This is more of a followup of my last question. I did a speed test using dslreports.com using my desktop connected via a linksys usb wireless G and with cat5. I also did this test with one of my laptops. The speeds were all faster than the stated speeds for my plan. The wireless was actually rated faster than the wired. I am getting around 6Mbps which is what I get during downloads. The problem is that when transferring between computers on my lan speed is the same speed most of the time. I have done wifi laptop to wifi desktop, cat5 laptop to cat5 desktop, and any other combination. They all transferred at the same rate except for when I connected my laptop via cat5 and my desktop via wireless which was twice as fast.

I am thinking that my wireless router isn’t routing very quickly no matter how the computers are connected. My router is a Linksys WRT54G with DDWRT for firmware. Are other routers better at Lan throughput?
