Hi and welcome to my blog,

I opened this blog to help anyone who is preparing for his SAT.
I remember myself when I started - I was so lost and in such a panic.
Luckily I got this great SAT guide that helped me a lot . So study hard and good luck!

I have found www.number2.com to be pretty useful but I was wondering if anyone knew of any other good sites to use.

Also, I was wondering: Can anyone tell me if the Barron’s SAT Prep book (not the 2400 Edition) sample tests are more difficult than the actual SAT test?
I couldn’t figure out how to reply to you guys so here it is:
I asked my parents if I could take a review course and they said I could do it, but they quickly changed their mind once I told them the price. I don’t quite have enough money to pay for it myself. I’v been reviewing from a Barron’s review book though,

Thanks for the info about Sparknotes, I didn’t even think to check there.

PostHeaderIcon Which SAT Study Guide to use.?

I went to Barnes & Noble today to look for an SAT study guide, but there were such a wide variety of publishers and material, that I couldn’t decide on just one.

I lowered it down to Kaplan, The Princeton Review, and Sparknotes. Do either three of those sound like a reasonable choice?

Also, while I’m at it, does anyone have some true tips to increase my score on the SAT?

Thanks

PostHeaderIcon SAT biology sparknotes test prep?

I am currently studying for the june 7 biology sat 2 and am using the sparknotes study guide for it. I took all the practice tests and did satisfactory. I also have a white barrons book that i looked at the other day. I noticed that the practice tests were way harder. Does anyone know how hard the actual sat2 is compared to the sparknotes / barrons book practice tests?

PostHeaderIcon What’s the best SAT II Chemistry subject test prep book?

I already took the practice ones on sparknotes. Ugh it was discouraging coz I only keep getting around 640-670 i need a 700 at least. I know the concepts if you ask me to explain anything. I think it’s just the testing conditions that’s getting me. Don’t ask me how I got a 5 on the AP….

PostHeaderIcon TutorFox Guide for the SAT sounds fake?

i don’t think it is real and i think it is better to study by yourself. it sounds plausible, and it looks real..but how come i never heard about it before? and Titanica (one of the people who claims it helped him) is pasting the same paragraph in every question about TutorFox or SAT preparation information. And i don’t trust him. YOU should buy a Princeton Review, i bet they sell it in many bookshops in the States. It has fabulous tricks and short-cuts to getting the right answer. i just began today, i’m 11th grader btw. I know i started pretty late, oh well..and i really suck at math – but i am just trying to inspire the people who are starting to study for the SAT and are worrying. i even took a mini-SAT on Sparknotes and got %47. really bad… but anyway, good luck! Sorry, this wasn’t really a question..but let’s see if Titanica shows up on my question and pastes the same paragraph..

PostHeaderIcon I need a US History SAT Subject test prep book!?

Okay, so I just bought the Sparknotes: SAT II US History book and so far it seems pretty good, but I want the best one! Let me expalin one thing though, I’m in high school and I took a History 17B course over summer at a Comm. College in the area because it fulfilled the requirement for US History at my school. the only problem is that it only covered 1865 and beyond and the SAT II goes from columbian age and beyond. SO, I need a book the will give me all I need to know about the earlier part, plus, at least a detailed review of the 1865 and beyond.

Bottomline, I have a week to return the book if you guys think another one is significantly better!

Is the College Board provided practice test for the Bio SAT really real tests? I found that on their practice test, I scored much higher than on the practice tests of Barron, Kaplan, Sparknotes
