Has anyone taken the SAT/ACT prep course at Huntington Learning Center or Sylvan?

Hi and welcome to my blog,
I opened this blog to help anyone who is preparing for his SAT.
I remember myself when I started - I was so lost and in such a panic.
Luckily I got this great SAT guide that helped me a lot . So study hard and good luck!
If so, how did it help you? was it worth it? how much did it cost and how long was the tutoring (like how many sessions did you have to go to)
I HATE SAT TUTORING!!! Can someone convince me to like it more?
I just hate it so much. My tutor isn’t helping me the littlest bit, we have TONS of homework from it and do next to nothing in our sessions. I dread them every week and they make me want to cry all weekend knowing that i have them on sunday nights. My tutor can’t physically laugh either, which is the creepiest thing ever. Its not that he’s just very focused on work its that he cannot laugh. He’s like some kind of SAT robot. Anyway, I just want to quit and i just feel like it could NEVER be worth the pain to get great scores. I’m going to music schools which only ask for the SAT scores if you want scholarships. They dont even matter.

Preparing for tutoring sessions for standardized tests?
Hello,
So, i was wondering how far in advance one should start tutoring sessions for the SAT and the ACT? I have a woman who I am going to start weekly sessions with but she wants me to tell her when to start.
I will be taking it in the spring, as with most juniors…
thanks!
Is the SAT similar to AP exams?
I’m currently receiving SAT tutoring sessions. Could this also help me with my AP exams that i have to take next year? Are the formats similar? If anyone can give me more information on the AP exam it would be helpful

SAT/ACT preparation – what book(s)/other help?
I’m out of school now (1+ years, so no school counselor to consult with this), hoping to go to college next year, but before I do that I want to take the ACT and SAT because I know whatever I scored before (which I don’t even know) is a lot less than I could score if I actually studied for them.
— The next testing sessions are October 10th. Is this enough time in general to prepare and study? Unfortunately I am one of those people who have forgotten 90%+ of things they learned in school (math, specifically) so I’d essentially need to be practically relearning everything. I’m not a speedy learner, but I am quite capable when I apply – but who knows, really..
— So what book(s) should I get? If I understand it right, there seems to be yearly "editions" of prep help books out.. so what’s a good one or does that not matter and is any prep book, as long as it isn’t ancient, good enough?
— And for the likes of me who has essentially forgotten how to do stuff (I never took calculus, for example.. and my science background is pretty much nonexistent) or were never taught certain things at all.. are these books even any help? Will they even matter?
which SAT test prep. book would you recommend?
I went to barnes and nobles the other day…and i first took a look at THE OFFICIAL STUDY GUIDE to the sat and it gives out test prep. but it doesn’t explain the answer.
I also took at look at Barron and it was similar to KAPLAN….
i heard that Barron is more advance than what the SAT actually is…
Kaplan on the other hand it "underpreparing" as stated by others..
but i am considering Kaplan because it’s easy to follow..and the version that i saw had a CD which includes SAT coaching sessions from "Mel Robbins"
anyways..give me your opinions…?
