Hi and welcome to my blog,

I opened this blog to help anyone who is preparing for his SAT.
I remember myself when I started - I was so lost and in such a panic.
Luckily I got this great SAT guide that helped me a lot . So study hard and good luck!

Hey guys it would be great if I got your opinions. I just started my AP gov summer homework… and there is soooo much. There are only 2 weeks left until school starts, and if I focus on AP gov, then I won’t be able to study SATs much for the rest of the summer. I still need to retake SAT 1/2s and ACT -_-

- i originally signed up for 2 APs my senior year but SHOULD i just drop AP gov and go into normal gov and only take 1 AP course my senior year and focus on SATs? The only thing is that I’m just afraid UCs won’t like me only taking 1 AP course (AP stats). Will UCs think that I’m not taking enough challenging courses? If i drop to regular gov, i’ll probably take 5 classes my senior year.

btw, I’m pretty sure I can get an A in regular gov, while I’d probably be getting a B in AP gov

WHAT DO YOU THINK I SHOULD DO?
-THANKSS

PostHeaderIcon What is a good laptop to buy?

I am taking online courses in visual basic and web design for my senior year. My desktop computer is almost eight years old and completely unreliable. On top of that my brother has a lot of games installed on it that I can’t take off because it’s a family computer. I am looking to buy a laptop to use for my senior year and for college. Does anybody know any decent ones that would be good for school? I’m looking to spend no more than 0-,000.

PostHeaderIcon How is the FastForward Thinking course in NYC?

As a student who will embark on the senior year of high school in September, I am looking for the best course to take in preparation for the SAT. Due to schedule concerns, I either have to sign up for the Princeton Review course or the FastForward Thinking Course. I have not seen any opinion on the latter course, and would like to know someone else’s account on the class. If I do take this course, I will be in the honors class.

PostHeaderIcon SAT/Mock SAT result tips/advice?

Hello,

I’m a sophomore in high school and I want some tips and advice

for my preparation for SAT

I’m planning to take it in my senior year, Sept, Oct, Nov.

I took MOCK SAT at the beginning of the year and my score

was: math 700 reading 500 essay-> I didn’t get my result back

and I’m assuming it’s about 500 also.

I’m setting my goal at about 2200(the higher the goal the better)

I need some advice and tips to get there

English is my second language and my vocab’s really weak

How should I study for it? Should I read magazines? or

Should I study one of those "SAT VOCAB" books?

And I also need improvement in my essay

How should I prepare for that??

Also With 1 1/2 years left til I take the SAT do you think I can

get there??

Thanks

P.S. when you guys put tips and stuff, please tell how you studied and your results in SAT and your school GPA.

PostHeaderIcon When do I take the SAT and apply to college?

I am a junior in high school right now.
Next year, during my senior year, I will take an SAT prep course. So I guess I will apply to college sometime during my senior year. Does this sound right to you?
Is this how most people do it?
Please don’t tell me to see my guidance counselor, because I go to a really small school and we don’t have one.
Please help me.

PostHeaderIcon Is it possible to teach oneself all the material on an SAT?

My high school doesn’t offer physics until senior year, which is too late. Do you think with the help of a few books and/or a tutor, it would be possible to learn enough to get a good SAT score?
Sorry, just to clarify, I was talking about taking the physics SAT Subject Test

PostHeaderIcon Need help with preparation for the SAT…?

I’m going to be a junior next year, and I’ve been trying to get my score up to at least the 2000 range. I’ve made a litle bit of progress, going from a 1440 to a 1770 this summer, but I’ve had some big problems I don’t know how to fix.

For the math section, I always struggle with the last five problems, which are the most advanced. I just don’t understand how you make up your own equations and see it from a different point of view. It really frustrates me when I don’t know what to do or how to even start it. I look in the back of the book on how they solved the problems, but I always end up feeling stupid after seeing the strange techniques they used… although somehow they make it work. Most of the time I end up leaving these advanced problems blank. How can I get better at this?

By the way, I’m taking the SAT early senior year I think.. and my parents are considering sending me to an SAT prep class for this upcoming year. Has anyone heard of ELITE, or has anyone taken a Princeton Review Class? Any suggestions would be highly appreciated.

PostHeaderIcon Should I take an expensive $1800 test prep for SAT? ?

Hi, Right now I’m going to go into senior year and my sat scores are sadly 1550 really average. I don’t plan on going to Ivys nor top schools. However I do want to make in a good reputable school in NY, where I am located. Right now, I’m contemplating whether I should take an expensive test prep called Testtakers 00 bucks! I don’t know if its worth it but i have heard alot of great results from classmates but I really don’t know if it is worth it!

Should I take an 00 course or will I regret not making that decision in my life? Deadline is really near. I just found out that it was 00 not the 50 that it use to be.

I do not want to try other programs because I know they suck. Kaplan and Princeton Review around my area isn’t good at all. I took Kaplan and it sucked like hell.

Hi. I’m going into my senior year in high school. I’m interested in buying a laptop for the rest of school and into college. I primarily want to use it for school work, watching movies and videos, surfing the internet, and storing music and pictures. My price range is 0 or less. I also want to be able to carry it around easily. Does anyone have any recommendations. Thanks :)
