Looking to buy a laptop?
Looking to buy a laptop that will be used primarily for:
1. School work
2. Photo and music uploads and downloads
3. Burning/Creating Music and Movies
I do play games on the computer but not a daily thing.
Looking for something that obviously has a lot of memory, clarity, efficient, light weight.
I have a Dell PC now (about 5-6 years old) that I want to keep and use in conjuction with the laptop. Would like a MAC but not sure about its compatibility with my PC
Looking for suggestions – I do not have thousands of dollars to spend – possibly looking into refurbished laptops? Thanks in advance
Wanting to buy a laptop, any suggestions?
I am looking into buying a laptop and I need some suggestions on a good brand to buy and how to equip it. I mainly want to use the laptop for personal reasons such as: for music, live t.v./videos, school work, internet browsing and software usage for people going into Information Technology degree. (I guess you could say a laptop for a college student.) I would however though like the laptop to be very fast and responsive with good memory and storage. Can anyone help me out?
What laptop brand should I buy? Details inside?
I need a laptop for high school and I plan to use it until it breaks. It’s also my first time buying a laptop. I want it to be …
- light
- PC
- wireless internet
- can burn CDs
- a lot of memory
- large screen
- long battery life
- durable to bumps and scratches
- have programs (photoshop, editing video/sound, etc)
- guaranteed
- affordable
Please suggest and give reasons if possible. The laptop doesn’t have to have all of what I want, but I want most of it if possible. Thx
is this a good deal for a used laptop?
I need a laptop for school (10th grade). Mainly only for typing up papers, facebook, and surfin the web. I don’t really have to store documents on it soo the memory shouldn’t be a big issue. I have some pictures but i could store them on a flash drive. I put an add on craigslist for a used laptop because i have to buy my own with my christmas money (5) and someone responded with this offer, which was the only one within my budget. Do you think its a good deal and what questions should I ask the seller?
I have a Toshiba laptop you may be interested in. It is a P III at 850 mhz , 512 ram running XP-Home. I think the Hard Drive is 20 gig ? Not sure of that. I have the owners manual on the desktop. It is in good condition except the battery is shot. I have the AC adapter and it runs fine as long you plug it in. I also have a Wi-Fi card which works good at Borders etc.
We are a non-smoking home and it is in shiny condition , looks and runs good. I am not a computer whiz and bought this before I bought my better laptop as a temp substitute.
I have a non-matching mouse to go with it but it does have the little touch point to control the mouse. I may have a case for it. It also has a DVD rom drive and works to watch movies ( the main reason I bought it ).
Price is 0 firm , let me know.

What kind of laptop should I buy?
I’m going to be entering college, fall 2009, and I’m an art major. I really don’t know what kind of laptop I should get. It seems that every art school uses Macs, but I’ve never used one before.
For preference, I want something that has high quality graphics (again, art major) and can run Photoshop and Illustrator well, has a lot of memory, and is relatively light.
What laptop to buy if I need these features:?
I am ending my junior year in high school and have been thinking about buying a laptop for school and entertainment use for many months now, but I am not sure what would be best. I have tried looking through a lot of those computer rating websites but after looking I just want to give up. I’m not so worried about the price seeing as I will have this computer for quite a while, but I need these specifications at least:
—able to play DVD/CD (my current computer cannot anymore =[ )
---has a Web cam built in
---Can play somewhat graphics-demanding games (Especially Tomb Raider: Underworld and also the Sims 2, because my current computer cannot play this one due to its ghetto dvd/cd drive)
---and possibly a cool design on it? I love art and design and would love some on the computer.
As for screen size, price, and memory, I don't care all that much.
So If anyone has any idea on what could be a good matching computer, please let me know. Thank you so much! Hope you have a really awesome day! ^_^
(I have looked at MacBooks, which seem really cool except they are not gaming computers from what I have heard [lame!] and I also have looked into the HP Pavillion dv2800t Artist Edition, but again, I don’t know if that computer could play my games?!)
Help me figure out what kind of a laptop I should buy?
Hello everyone. I hope that someone can help me. I need to buy a laptop for school. I am really confused.
Can someone tell me what I should get on it? Maybe memory and stuff like that. I will be using it to store my papers, pictures, video. I want it to have a cd/dvd and writer. Hope you folks can help me?
have a great weekend.
Ruthie
How much memory and hard drive should I have for a laptop?
I’m debating on buying a new laptop and I was curious. How much memory and hard drive should I at least have? I will be using the laptop for school use and travel.
What is the difference between an AMD Turion Dual Core & Intel Pentium Dual Core Processors?
I’m looking to buy a new laptop. For school use (I’m in high school) and for home use. I have a LOT of pictures I currently store on my computer, I don’t play games on it other than the ones that are currently on the computer. I need a lot of memory, but it will mainly be for internet and school use. But I would really like to know the difference between these two processors, besides the price.
Questions about SAT and SAT subject test prep?
I’m a junior and I need to know like the best prep book to use and if I should take a prep class or not and which class would be the best. Any other helpful information would be greatly appreciated.
Also how should I study for the SAT II subject tests. I haven’t taken any yet and I need to take like two or three. I want to go to UCLA or USC so is there certain subjects I should take. And one more thing. I think I can take the u.s. history test this year and physics next year, but im not sure what other subjects. and will colleges only see the scores that i want them too or all of them. oh and last year i did really good in world history and biology, but i was too late for the tests. now my memory has faded majorly, but should i try and refresh with a prep book and try and take those now.
i’ve gotten really tense about all this because it seems all my peers have already been preparing and what not. is this a really late time to be prepping and how much should i be studying a day. thanks!
Buying first laptop for school – any suggestions on what to buy?
I am going to buy a laptop for graduate school. I will be carting it to school with me every day so would prefer something lighter if at all possible. I also need something that isn’t too terribly slow. I don’t need anything that has lots of memory since I am using it simply for internet, applications like Word and Powerpoint and that’s about it! Any suggestions?
