Hi and welcome to my blog,

I opened this blog to help anyone who is preparing for his SAT.
I remember myself when I started - I was so lost and in such a panic.
Luckily I got this great SAT guide that helped me a lot . So study hard and good luck!

I am planning to buy a laptop.

These are the models I wanted to buy. Which one is better?

Toshiba A205-S7458 (Core 2 Duo T5250)
Sony Vaio CR 220 (Core 2 Duo T7250)
HP DX6650 (Core 2 Duo T5250)

all of these have 2GB RAM and 200GB hard drive.

Thanks!!

I use my laptop for college school work, internet, and some gaming.

PostHeaderIcon SAT Prep courses: need recommendations please!?

Hey, so background info real quick: took the SAT in March 09, and scored a 1790 (cr: 550, math: 620, writing: 620.) see, i had taken a prep course through sylvan learning center, but i truly do not think it made a difference. it was a very weak (but unfortunately expensive) course and i really need to increase my score, seeing as my dream school is Georgetown!!!

my goal SAT is roughly a 2100. if you have a course you want to recomend, thanks so very much. :)

so, anyone have any suggestions on test prep centers that are GOOD!!!??? Put money aside for a moment, and just speak loud and clear please. I really need that score and am willing to study and prep as much as possible for it. so if you know of a great prep place in the houston area of texas, please, please, please let me know.

PostHeaderIcon I am a smart student (3.8 GPA with AP/honors classes) but my SAT scores don’t reflect my intelligence. Advice?

I need help on the SAT. I am a smart student, but the SAT doesn’t seem to be my cup of tea. The sections that I struggle in are critical reading and writing. So, obviously, I am a math guy. Recent scores were 500 CR, 530 RE, 670 M. There is a big gap between the CR/WR and the M section scores. Any advice to how I can prepare overall in all sections to level out my scores? What are the best books to prepare? Should I consider a SAT tutor? Any suggestions are welcome.

PostHeaderIcon What is a good SAT study guide?

I’ve pretty much got the math down (although I want to practice more). But I would really like a book with good vocabulary and lots of hints for the verbal (CR) and writing sections. Also the same or another book with pleanty of practice. And if you have one that proved useful overall please do mention it. Thanks ahead of time.

PostHeaderIcon What kind of colleges can i get into with 1530 SAT and 3.62 GPA?

SAT – 1530 (Math: 780 CR:750) or 2260 with writing
GPA – 3.62
EC’s: tutoring, part time job, 2 years of wrestling, some volunteering

could i get into like NYU or Tufts?

PostHeaderIcon I need an SAT tutor for over the summer?

i already took the SATs and was content with CR (620) and Math scores (640), but my writing score was awful (500). I really would like a tutor this summer to boost that score at least 100 points, but my dream is for all of my scores to be 650+.
Does anyone know of any excellent tutors that are in or around NJ?

PostHeaderIcon I Bought and PSAT And SAT Classroom Course From Princeton Review. Are They Good? What should I do next?

I am going to be a Junior in September, which means i will be taking my PSAT’s again. As a sophmore, i got a 65 on CR, a 57 on Math and a 52 Writing. My hope is that my PSAT Princeton Review Course will help pick those up at least into 200+, (Just under 30 points more than i got last year.) Has anyone ever taken a Princeton Review Course? If so, what was your experience, in terms of grades? What else can i do in addition to the PSAT course?

Oh yeah, i also purchased an SAT Course that begins 01/16/10 and i will take the SAT in March ’10. Once again, what was your experience taking an PR SAT course, in terms of grades? Did they really help?
Please be honest and i’m looking foward to your answers =]
Any other tips/advice/etc will be greatly appreciated

PostHeaderIcon What is the best SAT Test Prep for improvement on Critical Reading?

I have tried a local tutor and my critical reading score actually decreased 20 points. I have a 620 and am looking to improve my score to the 700 range. I am a motivated student who did all the homework that was assigned, yet I still didn’t improve. Please, I just need to know who is the best for private tutoring on the SATs for CR ONLY (I pulled an 800 Math). PLEASE HELP ME I WANT TO GO TO DARTMOUTH OR UPENN-WHARTON AND NEED A HIGH SCORE!!!!

PostHeaderIcon Should I invest in an SAT Prep Course or not?!?

Well, I’ve browsed through just about half of the search results for "SAT prep course" on yahoo answers, but I still can’t find the answer for the question I had.

A little background on me: I’m a busy HS Junior, i made 176 on the PSAT last year, (lowest was Crit Reading (54), highest was Math (66))… I think I did substantially better on this year’s, but I don’t know yet. I bought a PSAT book from Kaplan for the PSAT and went over the CR section and writing so-so. I had the book for a while, but I didn’t really use it until a week before the exam :( …. I did the three practice tests and got 200+ on all of them. (highest was 212, lowest was 201)

Anyway! My question is:
Should I take the Kaplan SAT course (Princeton Review isnt offered in my area)?? Does anyone think it could help someone like me? Does it raise scores substantially? Or would I do better just buying a book? (Remember, I am a student who is busy and has little time, and is not very self-starter-y and probably wouldnt use the book as much as I should and would probably cram 1-2 weeks before the test)

I dont want to have to spend 00 on something targeted to students who really have it worse than I do, because i want to break 2100+ on the SAT… So yeah…

PostHeaderIcon How did your practice SAT Tests in College Board Book compare with your REAL SAT score?

I scored a 2020 (M-700, CR-650, W-670) on my first SAT Practice Test and then a 2150 (M-760, CR-690, W-700) on the second test. How accurate are these scores? How did your eighth and final Practice test compare with your REAL SAT? Also, how much did u improve from very first practice test to the eighth and final one?

Did you find what you were looking for? psat prep course, gmat prep exam, act preparation classes, college board sats?
