I want to know what grades I should aim for to get into a top school. It doesn’t have to be Harvard or anything.

I’m going to be a junior next year. And I am signed on for two AP Classes: US History and AP English Comp.

My average is a low 90, but I do have a 95 average in English, a 98 average in Global History, an 97 average in Italian, a 88 average in math(trigonometry) and a 88 average in Chemistry. So far (haven’t gotten final scores yet).

also, do universities look at the whole academic average or just the academics? I go to a Performing Arts School and my music classes are averaged into my grades.

any info would help. Thanks

Do you any good preparation book for SAT II subject test? Literature, US History and Math 2.

Should I do science? Biology or Chemistry?

I’m going to take these tests in January: Math Level 2, Biology, and Chemistry or US History.
Which test relatively has a more lenient curve: chemistry or US history?

i need another SAT II test… i took US History and Literature and my scores were acceptable… but i don’t have a third test… i’m thinking about Math II and Chemistry, but i won’t be ready until the end of the year and the last test date for my college is in Oct.

so is there a test that can be easily self taught?

also

why isn’t there free test prep for the SAT IIs like there is for the ACT/SAT?

Hi~

I will tutor a high school student (10th grade) on Math subject
(Algebra 2, SAT Math preparation).

And I am a junior in UC Irvine and have a major in chemistry.

My question is how much I should get paid as a math tutor!

Only those who scored a 2000+ please.
Ill be taking the SAT and SAT II Chemistry and Literature this coming March, April, May, and June.
I have already begun studying out of books and using practice tests, although if you have any preparation tricks thatd be wonderful.
Thanks. :]

Hi, I live in the UK and am seriously considering going to college in the US. I know I will have to take the SATs and was wondering:
a. How do they compare to A-Levels? I need to take Maths II and a science SAT for the places I’m interested in. How do these compare to AS level sciences and maths? I have looked on the collegeboard website but it is hard to judge from the limited number of questions.
b. What (if any) study guides people would recommend? — for the reasoning SAT as well as the subject tests.

I would really appreciate answers from people in the UK who have taken the SATs particularly Maths II, Physics or chemistry and studied these saubjects at A-level. But any opinions from people who’ve taken the tests would be great. Thanks =)

I am going to take the SAT test soon.
To prepare for it, I’m thinking to buy the "The Official SAT Study Guide (TM)" and enroll in its online course, "The Official SAT Online Course™" (both by Collegeboard)..
I’m just wondering - has anyone tried the book and is it a good prep book? Also, anyone tried the online course? Does the online course prepare you well for the test? Is it worth its price?
Or do I have to take like real Saturday classes in order to do well on SAT?

For SAT II subject test, I’m planning to take Math, but I have no idea whether to take Math I or Math II. Is Math II a lot harder than Math I? What’s a good book to prepare me for either?
I might also take Chemistry. Is SAT II for Chemistry hard? Any book recommendation?

Only serious inputs please.
Thank you and good day.

I’m planning on taking three subject test in October. I’m pretty sure that I’m going to take math I, spanish, and chemistry. If anyone has taken these do you have any advice? What are the best prep books to use? Any help is appreciated, thanks!
Thanks so much, that is really helpful!! I’m planning on studying for basically the majority of the summer so I hope I do well…now all I need is chem :)

I’m not much familiar with the procedures of SAT. And, I’m not an American resident. So, I have this doubt.

@ Are Physics & Chemistry there for the exam ?
@ Or is it just Maths ?
@ Why the hell are they checking our language skills too much when we are looking for Engineering and pure science-oriented learning ?

P.S: I don’t believe that one needs to critically analyse Shakespearean poetry to become an engineer. Thats awkward. :(

I will be taking the SAT Subject Test in CHemistry in June. I am not that confident as i feel my teacher isn’t helping us. I need to find a tutor for the SAT Subject Test for Chemistry. I have found a few but they are really expensive and i can’t afford that much. I need one near Syosset, NY. ANywhere in Long Island works.
Thanks for the help.

I’m taking honors Chemistry in 10th grade. I’m sure that the Kaplan, Barron’s, and Princeton Review are the best books to review with. I need to know the best one. Please state your choice whether it is fact or opinion and also a few pros and cons to back up your claim. Any links you can provide regarding this would be useful.

The tests are for different purposes, yes, but for example, I’ve heard that the AP Us History test has more "comprehensive" questions while the sat US history test has more date and battle based questions. Are there similar differences for the Chemistry ap and sat tests? Or more differences between the AP and Sat Us history tests?

Im going to be a senior when the new school year starts. On the SAT, I got:
1st: 1930 (570c, 760m, 600w)
2nd: 2160 (700c, 780m, 680w)

So here are my questions:

1. Should I retake the SAT? I know I already took it twice, but with some studying over the summer, I think I can score a little better.
2. If I take it again, would colleges average the 3 SATs since I took it three times. I’ve heard countless different things on how colleges look at SAT scores, and I am so confused. How would colleges look at my SATs if I retake or not retake?
3. Both times, I scored an 8 on the essay portion. For the people who scored higher than an 8, how do you write your essays?
4. Finally, for the SAT IIs, I have already taken the Korean test and got a 800 on it. I’m planning to take 2 or 3 more(math II, biology, and chemistry). Which ones should I take because I think I only need to take two more?
