What kind of laptop should I buy?





I’m going to be entering college, fall 2009, and I’m an art major. I really don’t know what kind of laptop I should get. It seems that every art school uses Macs, but I’ve never used one before.

For preference, I want something that has high quality graphics (again, art major) and can run Photoshop and Illustrator well, has a lot of memory, and is relatively light.

Laptop for art school student?

I’m going to art school (for college) this upcoming fall, and I will be buying a laptop for it. I will be using it for school work and digital painting with a Wacom tablet.

What’s the best brand + model I should look into? My budget is under 00, so no MacBooks. (And I want it new, not used.)

Why does art school use Mac instead of Windows?

I notices a lot of art schools use mac, and I was wondering should I buy a mac laptop since I’m going to a art school.
