Hi and welcome to my blog,
I opened this blog to help anyone who is preparing for his SAT.
I remember myself when I started - I was so lost and in such a panic.
Luckily I got this great SAT guide that helped me a lot . So study hard and good luck!
I took PSAT my Sophomore year and got a 141 (1410 respectively). My Junior PSAT score was 162 (1620 respectively) while my 1st SAT test was a 1630.
***I did not study for any of them***
I want to apply at Georgetown however I know my SAT scores aren’t good enough.
Question: Is a SAT prep class worth the 0? Or should I just buy test prep books? My school does not offer an SAT class.
Do other schools or community centers have SAT courses that are less expensive? Although, $500 actually isn’t that bad. What you might want to do is to study study study a SAT prep book. You can get them at amazon.com or a local book store. Then take the timed practice tests in the book and see how you do. If you don’t feel that you are prepared to take the SAT, then take the class.
Good luck!
DO NOT TAKE A GROUP CLASS!!!!!! i took one and did not improve, then got PRIVATE one on one tutoring by the same tutor and got a 34 on the ACT!!!!! PRIVATE IS EXPENSIVE BUT YOU GET REAL RESULTS
Don’t waste money on a prep class. Of all the SAT experiences I have heard, the students who participated in a prep class said they didn’t improve, while the students who said they used prep books raised their scores from around 1500-1700 to around 2100!
It definitely depends on you. I went to a prep class and just took the SAT on Saturday. I hope I get good results. I didn’t exactly have the motivation to self study and actually put time aside for studying the SAT, so I took prep classes.
Try using a book or two and see what results you get. Maybe tale the prep class for 2 weeks before the real SAT?
