Hi and welcome to my blog,
I opened this blog to help anyone who is preparing for his SAT.
I remember myself when I started - I was so lost and in such a panic.
Luckily I got this great SAT guide that helped me a lot . So study hard and good luck!
im going to become a junior ..
should i take an sat tutor ??
hellpppp
im clueless of what to do
Tutors are a waste of money. None of my friends who got tutors scored higher than I did. I just used a few practice books from the library. You just have to do some practice tests and get a good feel for it.
Save your money. Go the the library and check out some SAT prep books.
Read good literature with hard vocabulary (the absolute best vocabulary builder is reading, not lists of words, or read some hard newspapers (International Herald Tribune) or magazines (The Economist). A lot.
Get a copy of several math books from High School and work through basic Alg. and Geom.
If you work an hour a day for 3 months you should do well. The people who write the test assume that you have taken 3 years of HS to prepare for it.
Tutoring can cost a lot of money, but I recommend you get a guide. When I first took the SAT, my score was low in the mid 1700s but then I got the sat guide from TutorFox: http://www.tutorfox.com/satguide.html and my score went up to 2190 (800 math, 760 writing, 630 reading). I highly recommend this guide for anyone wishing to get a higher SAT score.
