Browse the site to learn more about psat prep course, gmat prep exam, act preparation classes, college board sats and more

Hi and welcome to my blog,

I opened this blog to help anyone who is preparing for his SAT.
I remember myself when I started - I was so lost and in such a panic.
Luckily I got this great SAT guide that helped me a lot . So study hard and good luck!

What are the best ways to study for the SAT tests? Specifically, the best books, preparatory courses, practice tests, helpful studying website sources, etc, etc, etc…Do I need to take the PSAT? Please help, all you high SAT scorers!!! :)

By the way, I live in California and I hope to attend USC, UCLA, Stanford…? So if you have info on required GPA & SAT scores, that would be helpful…

i used collegeboard and a kaplan math book to help on my SATs. i also took a prepatory course by revolution, i was lucky enough to get a good teacher but i was told by my friends from a different school that their teacher wasn’t all that great and in turn they didn’t learn much. so i guess i wouldn’t suggest revolution as a good prep course. i also have a friend that got a private tutor but i can’t say much about it because it was extremely expensive and she wasn’t very smart to begin with…i guess in the general sense i wouldn’t suggest that either.

for the reading section i prepared overall just by taking an english ap class with an amazing teacher which really helped my reading score, in addition to that study vocab words like crazy. i found that a lot of the words i studied were actually on the test.

i’m not good at math so i can’t say much about it. all i did was practice all the hard questions in the book because easy and medium weren’t a problem.

you don’t necessarily need the PSAT but if you do take it and score high on it you can be eligible for an award or scholarship money or something like that. i’m not sure because my sophomore year i couldn’t have cared less about an unrequired test. but it is a pre-cursor towards your actual SAT score, it’s a good practice test.

i know someone who got a 2100 and got into UCLA. in california 2000 or so is a pretty good score for any UC but for the more prestigious schools i’d shoot for a 22-23

Stanford would be tough to get into but it’s possible. I’m a sophomore and I’m using a Princeton review book and Kaplan book to study. I would take the PSAT just for the practice…but you don’t have to take it.
