Hi and welcome to my blog,
I opened this blog to help anyone who is preparing for his SAT.
I remember myself when I started - I was so lost and in such a panic.
Luckily I got this great SAT guide that helped me a lot . So study hard and good luck!
I have my SAT1 test after 1 week. I am worried about critical reading portion as my vocabulary is not that good.
I have got Barron’s SAT preparation book. They have got a 3,500 word list ….. do i have to learn all those …. If yes then How?
I never appeared for SAT before and i never gave PSAT aswell so i am really worried.
Please give some helpful tips and Preparation guideline.
Most of the vocab questions in critical reading can be answered using the context of the paragraph/sentence. I think it’s more important to study forms of questions they will ask in that section. Maybe buy SAT preparation book and look over that section might help you. Critical reading is more about comprehension and analysis of certain parts of a paragraph. Understanding how to analyze and comprehend the author’s main idea and theme is more important.
just skip the vocabs and study other stuff, things liek math and writing can be studied easily in one week – grammar errors, math formulas, etc.. critical reading is all about practicing over time
collegeboard.com’s program because they make the test. other things are not as good.
I recommend the online program offered by collegeboard. I bought mine for $70, but i found it on ebay for less than $15
I went from a 1710 to a 2130. Not too bad.(but i spent about a month of practice on this website)
Just search for (Official College Board SAT Online Course) on Ebay and you should find some.
Hope this helps
Good luck on your test!!!
