Hi and welcome to my blog,
I opened this blog to help anyone who is preparing for his SAT.
I remember myself when I started - I was so lost and in such a panic.
Luckily I got this great SAT guide that helped me a lot . So study hard and good luck!
Which SAT preparation book is the most helpful? My budget can only afford one or two, so please give me the best ones. Are Princeton Review, Kaptest and Up Your score good? Please also give me the name of the book.
Up your score is a very good prep book and combined with the official sat study guide you really can’t go wrong.
princeton review YES (i used it), kaplan… i guess. Up Your Score – never heard of it
Yes, all are good. Princeton Review was highly ranked at http://www.ceeae.org Kaplan’s book didn’t score quite as high due to not as good practice test questions. Up your Score is a great introduction and a fun read, but it has NO practice tests or even SAT questions, so for a single book it won’t cut it.
I would strongly look into "The Official SAT Study Guide" and Princeton Review’s books, though Christopher Black just released a new edition of his McGraw-Hill SAT book.
If you are short on dinero (who isnt?), know that you can download a free SAT from College Board AND that SAT just happens to be the October 2005 test-not too bad for free!
Also, if you are a fairly savvy net surfer you can find a way to get the online course for free as well. I can’t tell you how to do it b/c I have already gotten in trouble for doing so.
If you need help finding the October SAT you can go to ceeae.org and they have a link to the page and directions to download the SAT as well.
I tried princeton review and kaplan and they didn’t help me at all. When I first took the SAT, my score was low in the mid 1700s but then I got the sat guide from guideparadise: http://www.guideparadise.com/index.php?option=com_guides&task=buy&id=10 and my score went up to 2190 (800 math, 760 writing, 630 reading). I highly recommend this guide for anyone wishing to get a higher SAT score.
ok then get htese two princeton and barrons
