Hi and welcome to my blog,

I opened this blog to help anyone who is preparing for his SAT.
I remember myself when I started - I was so lost and in such a panic.
Luckily I got this great SAT guide that helped me a lot . So study hard and good luck!

Hi i am a rising junior and was wondering which class would be better?

i am taking the PSAT on October 14th, 2009 and the SAT in may 2010.

Which would be more helpful overall?

both classes take place form september 10th to october 20th.

I would take the SAT small group tutoring. The SAT includes some Algebra II questions that the PSAT does not, so you’ll get more information for your money. Plus, the class won’t be finished by the time you take the PSAT.

Even though the SAT is further away, it is much more important than the PSAT in terms of getting in to college. Take some practice tests before the PSAT on your own, though, because you can qualify for National Merit Scholarships.

I would take the PSAT test and then take the SAT Small Group. Unless you really think you can qualify for a National Merit Scholarship through the PSAT (it’s basically the top 2-4%) then the only benefit of the PSAT is gaining experience with what the SAT is like.

I would take a prep class as close as you can to the actual date of the test. Taking it several months after could just make you forget everything. So I’d take an earlier SAT or a later prep course. I’d recommend a later prep course, as your score will improve more as you learn throughout the year and have a chance to review your PSAT results.

    Good Luck!
