Hi and welcome to my blog,
I opened this blog to help anyone who is preparing for his SAT.
I remember myself when I started - I was so lost and in such a panic.
Luckily I got this great SAT guide that helped me a lot . So study hard and good luck!
High there – I asked a question about SAT subject tests yesterday.
I have decided that I am going to take the SAT Subject Test for math level 2. I would like to know if anyone could recommend a text with which they have had success for preparing for this test. I have a Princeton Review book for Math Level 1 and 2, but I was thinking of something specifically geared for Level 2 that I could do to become more comfortable with those problems.
Thanks!
What about Kaplan or a company like that??
Use Barron’s Sat II Math Level IIC to prep yourself.
Do A LOT of practice problems because the types of questions are all similar.
Barron’s book is probably the hardest one out there, so if you have this one down, then the rest shouldn’t be a problem for you.
Good luck.
In most cases, the prep books come geared for Math 1 and Math 2. I do know that sparknotes has a Math 2 book, but the qustions are so easy that you could easily get an 800 in the practice tests and mess up the real test because it is a lot harder. PR is a good book, although you’ll probably find that you will get a lower score on the practice tests than the real Math 2 test.
I used a book made by REA (Research & Education Association) called SAT Subject Test Math Level 2, 7th edition. It has 6 full length practice tests and lots of review. I ended up with a 680 on the test which i was happy with.
I second Barron’s IIC. I did just one test (and skimmed the others) and got a score of 770. Barron’s is much, much, harder than the actual SAT II, so you’ll be overprepared and with enough practice get an easy 800. Only reason I didn’t was because I didn’t practice much and started a few days before the exam… so I recommend you don’t wait till the last minute.
