Hi and welcome to my blog,

I opened this blog to help anyone who is preparing for his SAT.
I remember myself when I started - I was so lost and in such a panic.
Luckily I got this great SAT guide that helped me a lot . So study hard and good luck!

I chose to go to school online full time, I needed to buy a laptop so I could have proper internet access and know I have a good computer that wont shut down on me during a test or an essay. Can I use my pell grant to pay for my laptop?
they told me it would be sent to me…I don’t have a balance for the school because I had to pay for it up front, which is what i was going to use my pell to pay off

    Yes and no.

Yes, purchasing a laptop is considered the type of "qualified educational expense" that Pell Grant funds can be legitimately used for, but…

Probably no, in that the Pell Grant will be electronically disbursed directly to your school. When they receive the funds, the bursar’s office at your school will immediately apply your Pell to any balance in your student account (tuition, school fees, etc.).

If the school receives enough money to pay off your entire account, they will then issue you a check to refund any money that is left over – and then, of course, you could use that check to buy a laptop.

So, yes, you can certainly buy a laptop with your Pell Grant funds, but you won’t see any of those funds unless they represent a financial aid overage.

I hope that helped you. Good luck with your school program!
