Hi and welcome to my blog,

I opened this blog to help anyone who is preparing for his SAT.
I remember myself when I started - I was so lost and in such a panic.
Luckily I got this great SAT guide that helped me a lot . So study hard and good luck!

I was wondering if "Gruber’s complete SAT guide 2009" is a good book for preparation of the SAT’s. I am aiming to get around 2200. I just took a practice test, (about a day after i got it) and got 1910. I have about 8 months till i actually take the real exam.
So is this book a good way to increase my score to that fabled 2200 or should i make a transition to another book.
Thank you
p.s. If any of you got high scores in the SAT, a few pointers would be welcome.

Hmm, this book might not be that wide spread… however.. here’s what I got for you about preparation, I took the SAT and I’m probably going to do it again, according to what score I get (i haven’t received them yet)

ok..If you want to know the kind of person I am who is giving you advice, I am a hard worker and I have been getting straight As all my life, but still as a lot of people like me, SAT is a bit difficult. I have the book and I’m gonna push myself to get a high score.

I got Barron’s SAT book. (It has about 6 practice tests and 1 diagnosis tests to spot your weaknesses)

Plus a good one that won’t make you ever get bored of it: Up Your Score, it is an SAT prep book that is designed for teenagers (Barron’s of course is probably also for teenagers bcz most SAT test takers are teens, but it has no teen style)
This book uses humor too, (unbelievable huh?), and to me is very good since it is less boring than other SAT prep books..
Get it from your book store or order it, their website is http://www.upyourscore.com

The reading section has to be done with someone who knows SAT vocabulary. You can check these words at the end of Barron’s book, and some books are like, novels that has more than 1000 SAT words, I got one for myself. And there are a lot of ways to memorize them. Go to UpYourScore.com and look for how to download SAT words to your i-pod! (but you have to pay for the software or buy their book to get a voucher)

try to read magazines and news magazines to get familiar with reading a lot of passages.

As for writing: >>They usually bring quotes and ask you whether u agree or disagree.. so what you do is you go to famous "quotes" sites and practice writing topics relating to them.. I did that, and when I took the SAT test last January, I remembered a related quote I used for practice and empowered my essay using it.. btw.. up your score also has funny but pretty good tactics for writing.. and it would help you a lot!!

I don’t know this book but last time I used Barron’s book and it helped me a lot. The questions are very similar to the real test and there are many tricks and tips inside which are very useful.
