is the sat subject test required for college?
is the sat subject test in calculus required for UC colleges in California? I went to check out a sat prep school and the principle said it is required in order to get into the UC system. She told me I have to take one of her 00 classes in calculus in order to suceed on the test and get into a UC school. Is this true?

Don’t quote me on this, but I’m fairly certain there is no required SAT subject test for every single UC college. I believe the testing requirements vary from college to college in the UC system.
That said, I would trust the specific requirements posted by the school on their own "Admissions" page.
Generally, in terms of calculus, taking the AP Calculus AB/BC exam or the SAT II: Math IIC exam should be sufficient. There is no way that you need to take a class before taking that exam to gain admission to a UC college - that’s bogus. Although, taking a class certainly can help to improve your chances of getting a higher score.
Good luck!
It might be required but if you’ve taken the AP test or plan to in that subject, then it should be sufficient to give you enough information. Plus, they have those great $20 review books. And the test fee if you decide to take it is 84 v. 5,000 you choose.
