The next dates are October6 and November3.. Is it too late to give my SAT and SAT Subject tests.. will I be cutting it very fine? I dont have any othr choice..
PS: Any tips, advice, help on how I should go about my SAT preparation.. Out of Kaplan, PrincetonReview and CollegeBoard which publication do you recommend?

Nope, not too late (unless you’re applying for Early Admission). Most of the competitive univs. set Jan 1st as their deadlines, and the less competitive ones can go as late as March. Some use rolling admissions, which means you can submit at any time. I took my SAT and SAT2 in Oct/Nov the year I applied to college, and encountered no difficulties. Just make sure to send the scores to the univs you’re applying to.

As for suggestions: just start studying your vocabulary right now! The college board are the makers of the test – I would advise buying and using the "10 real SATs" book. After that, it doesn’t matter which one you use. Visit your local library and see what’s there before you buy anything. The math part can be improved by doing hundreds of questions. I would advise using books rather than burning hundreds on DVDs etc. Try to work as many old tests as you can. Speed is really important. When you first start practicing tests, do not use a timer. Just try to do your best and at least you’ll know what your score is in a best-case scenario. Critical reading answers ARE ALWAYS CONTAINED WITHIN THE PASSAGE. So before you circle an answer, find the exact sentence which has the answer. Do not use your memory – go back and find the answer. Check each of the choices and see which one is in the passage. Good luck.

No it is not too late. I got 2 perfect scores in math and reading, but my writing score was only 720, for a total of 2320. I only read this SAT guide, and that is how I got such high scores:

I recommend this guide to anyone seeking to get a higher score to get into a first choice college.
