Is it normal for a laptops battery to only last 2 hours? (while using a plug in network – NOT wireless)?

Hi and welcome to my blog,
I opened this blog to help anyone who is preparing for his SAT.
I remember myself when I started - I was so lost and in such a panic.
Luckily I got this great SAT guide that helped me a lot . So study hard and good luck!
I just bought a brand new HP dv6000 2g 160g hard drive and AMD turion x2. I’ve fully charged it and discharged it 3 times but today i tested it by using the laptop in "power save mode" (which is the one that suposedlly uses the least amount of electricity), i used the internet and the battery only lasted 2 hours and 4 minutes before it shutdown on me for not having enough power! The laptop is brand new so i’m wondering whether the battery life is normal or it needs to be exchanged for another one
Yes, it’s normal. most laptop only go up to 2-3 hours.
if you want to preserve the battery’s life, try not to plug in and use the battery at the same time. it will usually end up damaging the battery.
Always use up your battery before you charge it again, like 10% or less before charging.
that’s normal
sounds about right – even if you don’t have the wireless radio on, the screen is eating up the juice; you could try notebook hardware control (requires .netframework 2.0) which is free

For the average laptop, it is perfectly normal. For the more ‘longer lasting’ laptop batteries, that is only 1/4.
I have a laptop with a massive screen that only has a battery life of two hours like yours, but when i turn down the screen brightness it doubles the battery life- if your power save mode isnt already doing this, you should try it
That is pretty normal. The big screen eats up a lot of juice. Try dimming the screen and use power options to conserve battery life.
our lucky you get 2 hours with your hp dv6000.
I only get 1 to 1 1/2 hours
