Hi and welcome to my blog,
I opened this blog to help anyone who is preparing for his SAT.
I remember myself when I started - I was so lost and in such a panic.
Luckily I got this great SAT guide that helped me a lot . So study hard and good luck!
I am a freshman in high school and my parents made me take the SAT without any preparation and I scored a 1640. I have no idea what this means, and I have no else in my grade to base my score on.
Hi Shooner,
Ignore that last reply. The poster obviously does not have any idea when you put that you are a freshman in high school.
1640 is a fair score for freshman since the average for SAT for juniors is around 1500′s (500′s on each of three sections). You have plenty of time to study hard in school, read a lot in spare time, and do some prep on your own (or with tutor) to improve. Of course, you don’t really need to study until you’re done with sophomore year though.
And about that Putnam Exam… Don’t even worry about that because that’s for college students only, and that has no significance to you at this point. It is just the prominent exam for college students.
not to be mean, but a 1640 is not a good score on the SAT, look into taking it again as a junior and make sure to be more prepared… because the score may not be bad for a freshman, but comparison to college acceptances you will need to take it again and do better
