Hi and welcome to my blog,

I opened this blog to help anyone who is preparing for his SAT.
I remember myself when I started - I was so lost and in such a panic.
Luckily I got this great SAT guide that helped me a lot . So study hard and good luck!

I just hate it so much. My tutor isn’t helping me the littlest bit, we have TONS of homework from it and do next to nothing in our sessions. I dread them every week and they make me want to cry all weekend knowing that i have them on sunday nights. My tutor can’t physically laugh either, which is the creepiest thing ever. Its not that he’s just very focused on work its that he cannot laugh. He’s like some kind of SAT robot. Anyway, I just want to quit and i just feel like it could NEVER be worth the pain to get great scores. I’m going to music schools which only ask for the SAT scores if you want scholarships. They dont even matter.

You might try seeing if you can get a different tutor. Have you discussed this with your parents? A site I’ve heard good reviews of is http://www.brightstorm.com/sat-confidential They have video reviews of various SAT topics, etc as well as a bunch of practice tests, etc. It’s only $99 and you apparently can try it for free for a week. If it fits better with your learning style, perhaps you can convince your parents to let you switch (it would likely be a lot cheaper).

Bare minimum, any SAT tutoring, while focused on getting you to do better on a particular test, is likely to teach you some skills that will help you later on in college. Also, while I know you’re planning on going to major in music, I can tell you as an art major who wound up double majoring in biology and ending up as a science teacher, I’m glad my parents forced me to "keep my options open." I generally really enjoy what I’m doing now, but I wouldn’t have had the chance to change my mind if I’d been too focused on just the art. With music, you’re entering a very tough field (watch American Idol and do the math for the number of people who try out vs how many "make it"). If you’ve taken some business/english/math courses, maybe you can branch out into the producing side of music, etc. The most successful musicians are often the ones with the best heads for business so at least they stay in control of their career. Next time you’re dreading tutoring, think about the differences between what happened to MC Hammer (lots of talent, no business sense) vs Sean Combs (debatable talent, lots of business sense). While Robo-Tutor’s not going to make or break your future career, maybe something he teaches you can help you take it where you want it to go.

tell that to your tutor You have to him what’s up with him being so boring. But since it isn’t important for your school no need to kill yourself over it.
