Hi and welcome to my blog,

I opened this blog to help anyone who is preparing for his SAT.
I remember myself when I started - I was so lost and in such a panic.
Luckily I got this great SAT guide that helped me a lot . So study hard and good luck!

i just took the official sat practice test and got a 2140, which is the highest i’ve ever gotten so far. (last time i took was about two months ago and i got a 2020)… so does that mean my score will only go up?? will it ever go down? i feel pretty confident, because my reading and writing scores have been really consistent and my math score just went up 100 to 760… what do you guys think? how reliable are these prep tests?
also are ivy league schools within my reach provided that i have good ec’s, good gpa, essay, recommendation and a higher sat score, since i’m only a rising junior..

You should be fine. I took a prep test and got 1800, then (I didn’t take any classes or anything), on the real thing, I got a 2180. If you score well consistently, you just need to make sure you get a good night’s sleep, eat, and breath. I found the test to be a lot easier than I thought. (p.s. your proctor will probably allow you to eat during the test, so bring something you can snack on while punching your calculator–keep your brain going).

As far as being ready for an Ivy league school, it’s alot of prep and a lot of selling yourself, but it is also luck. For example, only ten percent of applicants to Yale are accepted. All those students applying to be Yalies think that they have a pretty good chance to get in, and yet, only ten percent make the cut. They do the best in just picking the "best" but a lot of it is luck. Work hard and hope hard.

Lastly, they want people who have a passion. Yes, you need great grades, good extra curriculars, fantastic essay, blah blah blah, you know the rep, but they want somebody who will challenge their peers, add something dynamic to the campus, and, make a name for Yale when they enter the working world. Good luck and keep working hard!!!

Mine were pretty reliable. I ended up getting about 10 points more than on my prep test.

well ive taken both the psat, practice sat tests, and the real sat. the sat always changes as youve seen through the practice tests so you may have kicked butt on one test and bombed the other. but on the actual sat, you usually score the median of your practice tests. ive taken numerous, NUMEROUS, amounts of practice tests and I ended up scoring better than my worst and worse than my best so its right in the middle. if youre lowest was 2020 and highest 2140, i would keep that same level of confidence and cool, and take the real one. youve got 3 times to take it and i think youll do just great. good luck :)
and ivy leagues want everything! the gpa is always good, aps, extra curricular activities, volunteering, sports, great personal statements/essays, and a high sat score is always best. ive got friends who kicked the sats butt going to cal tech and university of chicago. my other friend who scored in the high 1700s ended up going to northwestern but he had a lot of other activities. i personally chose a UC, because im in cali but sat scores are a plus.
