how can i do as well on the sat as people who take a prep course?

Hi and welcome to my blog,
I opened this blog to help anyone who is preparing for his SAT.
I remember myself when I started - I was so lost and in such a panic.
Luckily I got this great SAT guide that helped me a lot . So study hard and good luck!
i am a junior in high school, and all these people i know are taking sat prep courses. my parents don’t think i need one because i’ve always been a very good standardized test taker, i did very well on the psat sophomore year, and they’re a lot of money for something i can really do by myself. when people take a prep course what do they learn, how many practice tests do they take, what do they work on, etc? should i even bother to follow what a prep course would do if i just have a few trouble areas (the writing multiple choice and the harder math problems)?
Prep courses are good if you cannot study by yourself. If you know how to study, follow these tips to help you maximize your studying time: http://www.ehow.com/how_5396079_improve-sat-score.html Then, if you need more tutorials and practice questions, check out this website: http://www.mygretutor.com The GREs are very similar to the SATs, so using the questions to study are great practice.
