Hi and welcome to my blog,
I opened this blog to help anyone who is preparing for his SAT.
I remember myself when I started - I was so lost and in such a panic.
Luckily I got this great SAT guide that helped me a lot . So study hard and good luck!
I am a teacher who would like to tutor high school students in ACT and SAT preparation. I have no idea how much to charge for this service. How much would you be willing to pay for this type of help? (I live in a fairly small town, if you think that makes a difference.)
I tutored a few years ago while working on my credential. I signed up with a test prep company (actually two… first it was one run by Kaplan, the second one is a smaller Los Angeles-based one). They don’t pay as well as tutoring privately, but they do offer a scripted program, online diagnostic tests, etc. I taught both one-on-one and in a classroom setting, and was paid about $15/hr.
If you tutor privately, you can probably make twice that much (tutoring companies charge at least $40/hr) BUT you will have to prepare your own materials, administer diagnostic tests, etc..
