Hi and welcome to my blog,
I opened this blog to help anyone who is preparing for his SAT.
I remember myself when I started - I was so lost and in such a panic.
Luckily I got this great SAT guide that helped me a lot . So study hard and good luck!
Hey my two sisters had an SAT tutor and now I have them. They are a couple who teaches SAT, but I feel like I am not being prepared! Even though it is one on one, i feel very uncomftorable with them, and I am afraid to ask questions. When I do, I feel like I don’t get a clear response. I really want to take a prep class somewhere else or get a different tutor, but I am afraid my parents wont let me because my two sisters got into good colleges and they had this tutor. What should I do??
this is something you need to understand .follow their advice like recipe for making cake. what they are teaching you is way to pass, it is not for you to question, you are there to learn how to pass,I know this sounds strange but some things are like this( driving test is similar what is taught defies physics )
Especially in a one-on-one tutoring environment, you should feel completely comfortable to ask questions until you fully understand the concept. That is the whole point of individual tutoring!
However, one size does not fit all. Simply because your two sisters achieved with these tutors does not mean they are the right fit for you. You need to talk with your parents about this situation right away. I’m sure your parents want what’s best for you, and they don’t want to see their money being thrown down the drain! You must be able to show your parents that you are committed to studying for the SAT and are doing the work that your current tutors are assigning, yet you aren’t feeling confident. So long as there is not ulterior motive on your part (ie, want to study in the same class as a boyfriend/girlfriend), I’m sure your parents will understand and will find you a different tutor.
Good luck!
