Hi and welcome to my blog,

I opened this blog to help anyone who is preparing for his SAT.
I remember myself when I started - I was so lost and in such a panic.
Luckily I got this great SAT guide that helped me a lot . So study hard and good luck!

I uninstalled Windows XP on my old computer. Can I install it on my new computer? Is there any way to test the key beforehand to see if it is a valid code? I tried to use the key from my laptop, but it would not allow it. I threw my old computer away. Will the key still be linked to my old computer? How does it know if the key is installed on another computer?

Actually, if it is an OEM license (meaning it came with the computer) you can NOT transfer it to a new computer.

It has to be a full version of windows purchased off the shelf (not an upgrade) to be transferrable.

However you CAN install Ubuntu (or any other) Linux for free.

Yes, you can use the key. No, there is no way to test it. No, it is not linked to your computer, or even the CD. It is only linked to an algorithm that checks to see if the key MIGHT be valid, without ever checking to see if that key was actually sold.
