Hi and welcome to my blog,

I opened this blog to help anyone who is preparing for his SAT.
I remember myself when I started - I was so lost and in such a panic.
Luckily I got this great SAT guide that helped me a lot . So study hard and good luck!

Last Menses were May 31st (first day). I usually have a regular 26-27 day cycle. We had sex on June 9. I had cramps on June 12 and 13. Thinking that I was ovulating, we had sex again pm of June 13. Then again on the 15th.I had some spotting on June 16 which I thought was because of the night before. I fought with the fiance on the 17th (for the past few days I have been very very moody). I would find myself crying over something I see on TV (it’s not like me to cry like that). I walked to the bus stop yesterday with my laptop and I got tired. I am used to carrying heavier things than the laptop but I felt like I hiked up a mountain! Today, with just my purse, I walked the same route and I still got tired! When I rode the MRT (Metro Rail), I got tired (how could anyone get tired just standing/leaning on a post?!). Oh and when I ride any form of transportation, I get motion sickness which is unusual for me. I bought a preg test when I went to the grocery today but I am hesitant to use it because it might not make any difference – it might be negative now, but next week, what if it is positive (or maybe still negative), only God knows! But I really want to find out if I am pregnant.

From how it looks you ovulated just 6 to 7 days ago. While it is possible to experience fatigue and nausea in very early pregnancy, it would be virtually impossible to get a positive on a home pregnancy test at this point. The reason is that home pregnancy tests aren’t sensitive enough to pick up what little hCG is in your body right now. Implantation would have only occurred about 3 to 4 days ago, which could account for your spotting. So, assuming you are pregnant and implantation occurred 4 days ago, your hCG levels today would only be about 16. From the time implantation occurs your hCG levels will double daily. In an unpregnant woman, hCG levels are around 0-2. On the day of implantation, your value would be 2…
On day 2, that number would double to 4…
Day 3, it would double to 8…
And finally, today, day 4, it would double to 16.

Now, given that the most sensitive home pregnancy test out there can only detect hCG levels of 25 or more, taking a test now would not yield a positive, even if you are pregnant. Most tests are only sensitive to a level of hCG greater than 50. To see what different home pregnancy tests are more sensitive than others, go to http://www.poas.com

There is a list of all the home pregnancy tests on there and it tells you the sensitivity levels of them all. Even alot of the "early result" tests are less sensitive than some regular tests. If you are really curious, you could always go to the doctor for a beta hCG blood test, which will show exactly how much hCG you are producing. Anything greater than a 2 means you are pregnant. Hope that helps! Good luck!

I think it’s early to take a test..wait untill a missed period so that you dont get a negative and become deppressed.

  • happy family says:

unfortunately its too early for you, for a pregnancy test to be accurate you have to use it from the day your next period due…some claim that they will work from upto 4days before this date but they have proved very in accurate.
i understand your anxiety and excitement i went through the same and believed i had all the classic symptoms of pregnancy, unfortunately though some women convince themselves they are preg as they want it so much and therefore experience all the symptoms. although itll be difficult you will have to wait until next week and try occupying yourself with some shopping or quality time with the partner

i think it would be safe after 4 weeks to show if you are pregnant but there is some type of test that shows it right away ask the druggist which one it is good luck

Hey, I Kinda had the same thing as you. I spotted and have been very moody. Crying over simple things and I even cried over some horror film when one kid died…So, my period is late and yesterday I took a test and I got two lines. I will go to the doctor tomorrow to confrim it. I took Clomid and Tamocit last month…

  • Kristi says:

I’m almost in the same boat except my period is supposed to be between yesterday and tomorrow. I actually bought a First Response (5 days before missed period)test and took it on Sunday and had a faint positive line. I would say try one of those 5 days before you expect your period to start. At first when you look at the test you might not see the positive line but look close. Also, if you do take one before your missed period you need to know that there are false negatives so if you don’t see a positive line wait another week and take another test.

  • Maialaia says:

The test will do nothing except waste your money.

The spotting could have been cause by the sex or it could have been implantation bleeding which occurs when the fetilized egg implants in the uterine lining.

I know it’s frustrating, but you just gotta be patient. You’re in what’s called "The Two Week Wait." They say it’s the second-longest part of pregnancy (the longest being labour.)

Given your cycle you should test around the 28th of June, but if you feel you just CAN’T WAIT to test, go to a dollar store and buy a bunch of tests. That way, each time you waste one, you’ll only be throwing away a dollar.
