Hi and welcome to my blog,

I opened this blog to help anyone who is preparing for his SAT.
I remember myself when I started - I was so lost and in such a panic.
Luckily I got this great SAT guide that helped me a lot . So study hard and good luck!

*What are the main differences between the SAT and ACT?
*Which one is more important (I am college-bound)?
*Which is more difficult?

From what I’ve seen while flipping through AP exam prep books, I do like the Barron’s books, so…

*Should I invest in a Barron’s ACT and Barron’s SAT prep book?
*If I should, should I get them with or without CD’s?

I only want to buy them if they’ll really be helpful, as my AP teachers have required their students to purchase some sort of AP test booklet, and I’m taking 4 AP classes at the moment, so I’m trying to save from whatever angle I can, but if they’ll really help me…

The SATs and the ACTs are both important.
By word of mouth, I’d say most people and even in movies and in TV, the SATs are viewed as the only and/or more important test.
But thats not true. If you take both, colleges will accept your highest score.

The ACT measures what you have learned during high school and the SAT… "It tells students how well they use the skills and knowledge they have attained in and outside of the classroom—including how they think, solve problems, and communicate. The SAT is an important resource for colleges. It’s also one of the best predictors of how well students will do in college."
    (from the college board website)

Both tests are completely different, however I averaged about the same score in both. If possible, I suggest you take both.

As far as books go, I didnt use any of them so I’m sorry for not being able to help you there.

it really depends on you. ACT is much more science-y. the test has a whole science section on it, something the SAT does not have. the SAT is more english dominated, with 2/3 english and 1/3 math. it also depends where you’re applying. if you’re looking to go midwest, west, or south you might wanna go ACT. but if you want to go on a coast, you should go SAT.

Many colleges are now accepting both the ACT and the SAT. Many people think that the ACT is not as important as the SAT but recent studies have shown that the ACT is becoming almost as popular as the SAT among students and colleges. I recommend you take both and submit the score you did better on. And if you do well on both you can submit them both and colleges will see that you passed both of the rigorous tests. Sat has sections on reading math and writing, while the ACT has reading, math science and English, and an optional writing section. If you think you can do well on both i suggest you try it but if one seems harder than the other you should pick the one that best suits you. Hope I’ve helped
