SAT Questions

I want to apply to the Tisch school at NYU and the School of the Arts at Columbia. I go to school in England and SATs aren’t mandatory here so I need to start tutoring soon if I do need the qualifications.

I am 5’10” and 145 Ibs male

I will be using this laptop for:
1.school work
and
2. movies and gaming (free time)

Also, i will be carrying it around sometimes.

what size should i buy? 13′ or 15′ or 17′ ? maybe something else? weight?

I already have the Peterson’s online SAT course, but I’ll soon be taking the PSAT. Do I need another online course for the PSAT or is everything that I need to know already on my SAT course?

Hey my two sisters had an SAT tutor and now I have them. They are a couple who teaches SAT, but I feel like I am not being prepared! Even though it is one on one, i feel very uncomftorable with them, and I am afraid to ask questions. When I do, I feel like I don’t get a clear response. I really want to take a prep class somewhere else or get a different tutor, but I am afraid my parents wont let me because my two sisters got into good colleges and they had this tutor. What should I do??

I am Asian Indian and work with another Asian Indian. She is married and has two children. She has per say "a normal life."

I am divorced and my 16 year old daughter has been living with me for the past year.

My focus is primarily my daughter and her schooling and ACT/ SAT test preparation. I try to help her and be there for her.

I feel ashamed about my personal life and don’t talk to her much. We could be friends and would have some things to talk about like Indian movies, concerts, etc.

I feel bad because her life is more busy and fulfilling than mine. I know this from the few times that I have heard her talk about things that she does on the weekends.

I don’t mean to be rude, but I feel bad sometimes about myself and don’t talk to her.

What can I do not to feel this way?

I bought a dell laptop for school because I live on campus where we have wireless internet. But when I come home certain days i want to use my laptop do work on it. My house has a dial up connection. I tried putting the wall phone jack into my laptop but it doesn’t fit. so what do I do to get internet on my laptop at home with dial up?

I want to know what grades I should aim for to get into a top school. It doesn’t have to be Harvard or anything.

I’m going to be a junior next year.And I am signed on for two AP Classes: US History and AP English Comp.

My average is a low 90, but I do have a 95 average in English, a 98 average in Global History, an 97 average in Italian, a 88 average in math(trigonometry) and a 88 average in Chemistry.So far (haven’t gotten final scores yet).

also, do universities look at the whole academic average or just the academics? I go to a Performing Arts School and my music classes are averaged into my grades.

I keep getting the message NTRLD missing and I keep having to format and reinstalling windows xp. at the xp setup window I can’t use the "R" Key to repair it, my only option is to partition and install xp.. after I get this message NTRLD missing I try to boot from Harddrive and it mentions a problem with cable, but it doesn’t say much, just error on cable or something like that.
I’ve already tested my harddrive and it’s working fine.. How do I test the cable on the harddrive.. I really need help here as i’m at uni and I need my laptop to study cisco and I keep having to format to gain my OS. Thanking you in advance

What is the best preparation book for SAT II Biology M? Thanks. What you think about the princeton review for SAT II Biology M? Does it help?

I’m trying to decide which brand laptop to buy. I am going to be a freshman in college this fall and I am planning to go into accounting. I am looking at getting a MacBook. Has anyonoe had any problems sharing information between a mac and pc? If my school’s main operating system is dell, would I have trouble using a mac? Also, what does everyone think of dells? How is the quality, performance, etc? Any other brands that you really like?

What program is a REALLY great SAT PREP COURSE? Only answer if you’ve actually taken the course and highly recommend it. How did it help you increase your score?

The laptop I want is for home use, for games, school work and lots of videos.

Looking to get new cell phone service and I live out in the country a ways. I want to test how well various services work reception wise at my home and at my work. I don’t want to buy a phone until I know it will work in the places I want to use it. Is there a device that can show cell reception signals for various network frequencies. What I’m looking for would be similar to the wifi detectors you can get for a laptop that show wifi signals without having to use your computer.

I took Princeton Review & I was not impressed, I want to try something else but I don’t know what ?

*What are the main differences between the SAT and ACT?
*Which one is more important (I am college-bound)?
*Which is more difficult?

From what I’ve seen while flipping through AP exam prep books, I do like the Barron’s books, so…

*Should I invest in a Barron’s ACT and Barron’s SAT prep book?
*If I should, should I get them with or without CD’s?

I only want to buy them if they’ll really be helpful, as my AP teachers have required their students to purchase some sort of AP test booklet, and I’m taking 4 AP classes at the moment, so I’m trying to save from whatever angle I can, but if they’ll really help me…

I am currently living in Canada.
I have decent grades (91% average in the first term of 11th grade).
Should I work through all the US preparations (SAT’s) or just go to a Canadian school, a much cheaper and easier process?
Is the prestige of American schools really worth the price and effort?
Maybe I should just finish undergraduate studies here in Canada, then transfer to a prestigious institution?
I need to decide on this soon.

So Bank of America’s insurance lately changed. We went to Aetna insurance which is absolutely terrible. It doesn’t cover anything!!!!
MY mom got a blood test and had to pay 0. WTF i could’ve bought my new laptop..

So I am asking does she have to use Aetna health or can she go back to United Health Care.

I know this is a weird catergory for this to be in but I couldn’t find the right category!!!
