Oh ya mac or pc?

What are some books that enhances your vocabulary in the preparation for the SAT?
My friend suggested this
:Word Power Made Easy the Complete Three Week Vocabulary Builder
Are there anything else?
Thanks!

has anyone ever taken one would it be worth it to take this summer as a junior this year senior next year

I am looking into buying a laptop and I need some suggestions on a good brand to buy and how to equip it. I mainly want to use the laptop for personal reasons such as: for music, live t.v./videos, school work, internet browsing and software usage for people going into Information Technology degree. (I guess you could say a laptop for a college student.) I would however though like the laptop to be very fast and responsive with good memory and storage. Can anyone help me out?

I know some people who get sent to writing camps and SAT stuff and I feel like so unacomplished like "why arent I enrolled"? Those cost quite a bit of money dont they? Do they actually help alot? Does that mean those who dont go to those camps fail at life? My brother didn’t go to any of those and he got 1450 out of 1600 when he was in high school :/ Im just wondering if im really missing out?

Is there any place where i can go and get tutoring…or can i buy anything that will help. How well can someone actually prepare for it.

i just took a practice SAT online and i got a 1990. this is with no preparation (i literally just sat down and took the test) with distractions. is this good? i’m going to be a junior.

i’m taking the PSAT in october, and if i continue practicing every weekend or an hour a day or something starting on september 1, do you think i will be prepared for it? depending on how i do on the PSAT, i’m considering taking a SAT prep class, but im not sure if they’re worth it.

thanks so much in advance!

I’m new to the whole grading system for SAT scores.
I just took a diagnostic test for my SAT prep class. I’m just starting classes, and my diagnostic test score was 1890. I got a 570 in critical reading, 640 in math, and 680 in writing.

The class is supposed to raise my score up to 300 points. Am I on a good enough track to get into USC (University of Southern California)?

Now that I know my wife’s laptop’s harddrive is failing, I would like to test the rest of the system to see if it’s salvagable. I need to run some relatively complex programs (like say explorer, firefox, MS office, etc.) from an external source, like an external harddrive or thumbdrive. however, all the ones i have require extensive .dll’s or local harddrive access. what programs could I use?

I’m buying a computer as a sophomore in high school. If I buy a laptop now, I’ll be using it as a desktop for the next 2 years but I’ll be able to take it with me to college. Couldn’t I take a desktop or would I need something portable to take into my classes or would I be getting a newer one by then?

This was the email sent to me………..

Dear Duke TIP 7th Grade Talent Search Applicant:

We wish you the very best of luck as you take the SAT in two weeks on Saturday, January 23. On the morning of the test, remember to take the following:

1.Your SAT admission ticket. If you do not have your admission ticket, contact the College Board at 1-866-756-7346 or visit www.collegeboard.com/mysat (enrollee must be 13 to create an account.)
2.Your Duke TIP ID form (the pink 1/2 sheet that came with your test practice booklet. Access a replacement ID form here (.pdf).
3.Two sharpened number 2 pencils.
4.An approved calculator (review SAT’s calculator policy).
5.A snack and drink for breaks to be stored out of sight in your backpack or paper bag.

I have everything except for that admission ticket. Where do you get the ticket. I’ve only realized today that I don’t have the ticket. If anyone can help, please do.

I have the Kaplan Premiere SAT book of 2010 and I have been taking practice tests out of it nonstop. I can’t seem to find out how to see what my grade would be if it were a real SAT. Any help would be appreciated, thanks.

I’m going to try to save up some money for a laptop, but I’m in high school and I don’t have a job- therefore I don’t have a lot of extra money to spend on one.

What brand / model laptop would you recommend? I don’t like apples much, but I kind of want an apple laptop to use garage band… but they are really expensive too =( so i don’t know…

thankful for any recommendations :)
thanks in advance.

I am a teacher at a school who’s IT department does NOT allow us to install any software on their precious computers. My textbook teacher’s edition came with software question banks that I would like to use. Is there some way that, aside from uninstalling the exam creation program every time, my shutting down the computer would roll back the laptop so that it never "knew" I had installed and created a test on the computer? Mostly I use my home computer for such things, but I’d like a solution that wouldn’t have the wrath of the IT department come down on my head (you should have seen what resulted from me installing FireFox) at the school.

Thanks.

I don’t want to take online courses.
I’m looking into signing up the Revolution Prep.

What do you recommend?
Or should I just use those study guides?

Help, please!

I’m going to college soon and I need to find ways to get some cash.
I’m a senior in high school. I took the SAT and got a good score (2210).

It’s some informal tutoring. It’s not through an agency, and I’m only hanging up flyers around my neighborhood. I’ll probably end up working for a bit more than minimum wage.

- do u use it for notes and stuff
- is it odd to do this?
- does anyone you know take their laptop to school?

i was thinking about buying a laptop to take notes on for high school, but i don’t want to be the only person to do it….idk just wondering thankss

I can’t find one… does anybody know one?

Help is appreciated, thanks :)

I am trying to connect my xbox using my wireless adapter in my laptop. I know it is a fairly simple process of enabling the ICS on the LAN connection. When I attempt to check the box the message I receive is "ICS cannot be enabled, A LAN connection is already configured with the IP address that is required for automatic IP addresses." I have no idea what to do. I know there is a way to use an ethernet cable from laptop to Xbox 360 but I cannot fix this problem. I also know you can bridge the wireless connection in your laptop to your LAN which I tried but that would connect either. When I tried on xbox it failed the IP test. Any help would be greatly appreciated. I DO NOT want to spend 99 on that rip off wireless adapter…

I’m looking for a reputable place for the summer that won’t cost an arm and a leg. What are you experiences?

An IQ test presumably measures inherent intelligence, and the SAT was originally intended to do just that. An IQ test would eliminate unfair advantages gained from students who can afford expensive test prep. as well as those trained to do well on the test for years versus those who are too poor or too disadvantaged.

Opinions?
I am fromt he U.S. and my question was not on whether I should send my IQ test scores to my colleges as well but more an opinion on whether an IQ test should be given over an SAT test from college admission XD. Moreover, some IQ tests test spatial intelligence (your interpretation of shapes etc.) and artistic intelligence as well. Also, athletic minds are judged already in admission when couches of top universities (or scoutss) sit in on some games of high school athletes as well as judging their athletic records.
bah some grammer errors* mmmm.

I just would like to know so I can see if I need to get a tutor or not! Thank you to anyone who helps!
