SAT Questions

I heard that the Barron’s prep book is so much harder than the real thing that you can add 100 points to your score on Barron prep tests and that will be your real score on the SATs. It kindof makes sense, but is it true?

Hey I will be a new university this year and need a laptop for school.
My current idea is to buy a small, light laptop for in-class/school use and keep a separate bigger monitor + keyboard/mouse in my dorm and hook up the laptop to those via a dock.

I was thinking between a subnotebook (netbook) at a tiny 8.9 inches or a 12.1 inch laptop. The 8.9 is ultralight but the keyboard is not full size and therefore not comfortable for long typing, while the 12.1 is bigger/heavier but has more power, RAM, memory full keyboard etc.

All my classes are geography (non-science) and I don’t use a computer for much more than Word, Powerpoint, internet and music.
So would you be able to tell me which laptop would you recommend. Would the subnotebook (tiny 8.9 inch) be too small to act as my main computer, and from your experience is a non-full size keyboard (the subnotebook has a 95% size keyboard) too uncomfortable to use?

What kind is the most beneficial, a book or a class. Are either one helpful. If a class is better, which class is the best? Basically what is the best and most beneficial way to prepare for the SAT?
What about the ACT, is preparation needed and if so how?

Im only a sophmore high school student.

Im trying to find a pc analyzer that i can use on laptops that does not need the lpt printer port.

The laptop im testing doesnt have one.

I also cannot seem to find a pci hub so i need one that doesn’t run on that either.

If you know where i can find one it would be greatly appreciated.

I’m taking those two classes. I have one every other day. What does SAT verbal mean? like what will i be learning or preparing for in that class. Me and my friend are taking it and are a bit confused.

I need a laptop for school and want to use some of my financial aid to buy one but don’t want to have to wait for 6 weeks to get the money in the mail. Does anyone know if they sell laptops like in their book/supply stores? I am going to one in Omaha, Nebraska if that matters.

Also, I was wondering: Can anyone tell me if the Barron’s SAT Prep book (not the 2400 Edition) sample tests are more difficult than the actual SAT test?

Here’s my situation: I’m 22 and graduated from a reputable college a few months ago. Now I’m living at home and in the process of applying to professional school. I regret not making many friends in college, because now I’m stuck at home by myself, sad and lonely. I found a job as an SAT tutor that pays /hr, which is great, but I won’t have the chance to meet new people or make new friends, aside from the high school students who I will be tutoring alone in their homes. So, I’m thinking of getting another job in addition to the SAT job where I can meet more people my age. Where should I work? Starbucks? My concern is I have a degree and shouldn’t settle for minimum wage. Or maybe I should for the purpose of meeting people? Or maybe at a restaurant where I can earn tips? Any suggestions? I majored in Psychology and I’m applying to medical school.

I’m trying to use Voip to make a call but the test call won’t record my voice so I obviously either don’t have a microphone built-in or it’s turned off. Is there a way I can figure it out?

My laptop is a Compaq widescreen Presario

If i take that course- do i have to include that in my college applications that i took that course?

and how will that affect me?

im really bummed out right out because i got a 1570 out of 2400 on my sat. i’ve been taking practice tests and i get at least 1650 but the real test seemed so much harder for me and i have no idea why. the math concepts were different than the prep tests i took. SATS are really difficult for me for some reason i mean i get good grades with a 3.9 unweighted gpa but the SAT is just a different feel. this is my first time taking it and i am a junior. ALSO if i retake it and do A LOT BETTER do they take the higher score?

im kinda worried at the moment because i want to go to a college such as UCSD UCD UCI which requires high SAT scores and good grades.

I got a 1900 total and an 11 on the essay. I’m signed up to take them again in October.

Math: 670
Reading:590
Writing:640

What can you suggest to get the reading in particular up? Vocab flashcards?

I already have had a tutor and a class, so I can’t pay for another. I have books as well.

I tested my download speed at speakeasy.net/speedtest .
I have 2 computers. One computer is a laptop, I bought a USB Wireless adapter for it, the laptop runs on Windows ME. It’s DL speed is about 4700 kpbs. On my computer which is faster than my laptop and is using WIRE, using Windows XP. It only goes at a speed of about 3000kbps. And the wire is only about 20 feet. What can I do to make the speed for my Windows XP faster? I defragged the computer already.

well i did poorly at my first SAT basically because i did not study enough.I got a 730 with out counting the writing…Well i really regret it and want to score at least 1200-1700…Is it worth it taking a 5 course for SAT..i would greatly appreciate feed backs….any tips

I am thinking about buying a tablet laptop for use during school. I would be storing it when it is not is use i my locker. Does anybody have any creative or non-creative ideas of how to secure the laptop and/or the locker?

i am looking into buying a laptop from HP. I’m 16 years old and i use my laptop for school work and chatting with friends. I have an 80GB ipod classic and i have about 800 songs on it. if i want this many songs on my computer or more in the future, should i go with the 160GB hard drive or the 250GB?

I’ve read several things on the internet that you can make Spanakopita triangles & freeze them, then when you’re ready to use them just pop them in the oven (no thawing is necessary). My question is, can you prepare it, put it in the refrigerator &d then cook it the next day. Will anything happen to the phyllo dough? I know it’s pretty brittle when thawed & wasn’t sure what would happen to it sitting in the refrigerator with the spinach & feta inside it (all prepared).

Today would be a good day for me to prepare & freeze so I can cook it next Saturday but unfortunately I have absolutely no room in my freezer so I was thinking of preparing everything next Friday, putting it in the fridge & then cooking the next morning.

It would be great to hear from those who have actually done this and chefs too! Thanks so much!!!

ps: The recipe I have calls for unsalted butter, spinach, onions, feta cheese, eggs, oil, fresh dill, a small amount of flower & salt & pepper. Anything missing?

im using the ethernet cable that came with the 360 to connect it to my laptop but the ip address failed during the connection test
