I have my own computer for personal use and I bought a 00 Apple Laptop for school use since im back in college and want to write it off of my taxes.

I’m not taking the courses, but everyone else at my school is. How much will these courses typically improve their scores?
Ok, so I took the SATs for the first time back in October without any prior studying or preparation, and I scored a 2070 (800 in math, 640 in Reading, and 630 in Writing.)
My question is: what is the best way for me to raise my Reading score to 700+? (I could also use an increase in my writing too.)
Does anyone know any proven ways?
Thanks to the first answerer* lol
Im a indian student and i cant find a SAT’s official study guide at our bookstores help me have it online???
I am a junior-to-be in the upcoming school year and I have no idea what to do to prepare for this. So that’s basically the question. What should I do to prepare myself for the ACT/SAT?
I’ve been diagnosed with ADHD, panic disorder, and major depression. I took the SAT’s. I was shaking; I could barely move my arm to enter the answers, the words and formulas seemed like they were dancing in the air. I could barely even read half of them. All my symptoms get worse when I take any test, under any condition, so it wouldn’t matter how long I had or under what conditions I’d take it. In other words, no special accommodations work. On the other hand, when I write papers, etc., I get the highest or next highest grades in the class, and when I was in the 8th grade my reading level was at a 12th grade level. I’m also a truant, and when my ‘guidance counselor’ looked at my records he punched me in the stomach. Then he said, ‘You’re just lucky there are people around or I’d really let you have it.’ I have a single mother who makes about minimum wage and she doesn’t stick up for me. Meanwhile, a lot of kids have parents paying for those SAT tutoring classes. What can I do?

I am looking for a laptop mostly used for school and email, editing pictures and I also will be downloading music on it (which i know puts me at risk for some viruses). So I’d buy the norton anti-virus for the next years(is this sufficient enough for my protection). I plan on having it for 4-5 years at least!, I plan on getting the best buy Black-tie warranty for another 0. It is on sale for 9 at best buy. Please tell me any suggestions or pointers you have! or other reccomendations. I’ve never thought as gateway as being a good brand, so i am really unsure, but i also don’t know a whole lot about computers. Is the 4gb of ram worth the extra money? or is 3gb plenty of room for me, and my computer still not be slow after a few years?
Thank you =]
Yeah, im not a gamer at all, unless the occasional pogo counts!
I am applying for graduate entry into medicine and as you know I need to sit the GAMSAT test. I am planning to sit it in March 2008. I am wondering whether anyone knows any preparation courses that would hopefully help me maximise my marks in the GAMSAT. I live in Perth, Western Australia. I tried googling it, but with no luck..most classes are run in the Eastern states. I am just hoping that perhaps you know one. Thank you!!
I took the SAT reasoning test in may and just got back my scores. my raw score was 1680. now, i did not prep for this test at all, mainly because i didn’t have time. i do plan on retaking the test later after some prep work to increase my score. so i’m just wondering if its good to get this score on my first try?
I recently took the SATs in my SAT prep course and got 540 in math, 650 in reading and 670 in writing. I take them one more time in the prep course before I take the actual SATs on May 2nd.
Oops. The question SHOULD read "How much can I expect my SAT scores to go up the next time I take the SATs?" Wrong subject-verb agreement there. =P
i would like to buy gateway nv5214u. the specs looks great for the price. but i wonder if anyone has tried using this laptop.
First one to give a helpful link will get best answer!
i am currently in 11th grade and find it very overwhelming between school, clubs, sports, sat tutor, homework, drivers ed and all the other things that come with 11th grade. How did you guys and girls get through it without feeling so stressed?
People, even Collegeboard and other SAT preparation corporations, say reading builds one’s vocabulary. K so i’m actively reading a book and i come across a word i don’t know; do I continue reading or look it up? because looking up words you don’t know will take a longer time to finish the book and chances are you might forget the word.
so question is read or look it up?
I am a junior in high school right now.
Next year, during my senior year, I will take an SAT prep course. So I guess I will apply to college sometime during my senior year. Does this sound right to you?
Is this how most people do it?
Please don’t tell me to see my guidance counselor, because I go to a really small school and we don’t have one.
Please help me.
I’m interested in sitting for the CMA, but the prep courses are so very expensive (I’m still in school). I’ve heard Gleim is really good, but it’s over 0. Are there any other good values out there or should I just sack up and get Gleim? Also, how much prep time do I need before each CMA exam (days? weeks? months?). Thanks!
What are the good books to study for ACT and SAT II? For Biology E/M, Math IIC, and US History?
I want to prepare for the SAT and am planning on purchasing a study guide that will have good explanations, examples, practice tests, and vocabulary lists. Id like to buy only one that will be enough. Im thinking of buying Barron’s SAT 2400. Any suggestions and experiences? tips? all will be greatly appreciated :]
I just upgraded to 15 mbps and I have no problem of getting those speeds on the main computer downstairs. But when I did a internet speed test on speak easy on my laptop im only getting 2-3 mbps. Is there something I can do to fix that? Like having to go into run cmd or something

I got a 680- Critical Reading, 660- Math, and 580- Writing, during October- Junior Year with no preparation at all. The most difficult school I’d want to attend is Penn. What should I do to improve my scores to Penn’s range?
I’m a sophmore and took PSAT this year. I was soo disappointed by my score:137.
36 on critical reading
51 in math
50 in writing
I have 4.0 GPA right now
but I came to America when i was in 5th grade so my english skills need more work.
but when i took time and redid the same test, i got over twice as much right.
My goal is to get at least 1800 on SAT…. I’m going to get help from SAT tutoring center…
Do you think its possible???
I recently took a practice SAT in preparation for the real SAT in May. I just got my results. I got a 1790 overall, 510 for math, 600 critical reading, 680 for writing, and 8 for the essay.
My question is if these scores are good, considering it is my first SAT.
Also, what can I do to improve them? What did you guys do?
What colleges will these scores get me into?
I’m a junior currently.
Thanks
What is a good brand of laptop to buy now a days? I am willing to spend between 0-800. I heard that HP is one of the best to get, Compaq on the other hand has some major flaws. But what about Toshiba? Sony? I am using the laptop for some gaming, but mostly school work.
