I’m a freshman but I want to start studying for my SAT because I REALLY want to get a high grade. What are the best SAT study guide books and websites. I need it especially for math. Thank you.

Is there an SAT online course that I could take online for free that would help me improve my score on the SATs, other than college board and theprinceton review?

We have a netgear wireless router mr814vtw which links to a ntl modem and pc. Upstairs we have a fujitsu laptop which has an inbuilt wireless modem. We have connected this via an ethernet cable to the xbox 360. We followed the advice of some web forums in setting ip numbers but the xbox test fails at DNS test. Followed all advice but we are not getting further. Suggestions and advice gratefully received.

I have an advanced degree in math and have taken the SAT exam. I find that the SAT exam doesn’t measure a student’s ability to work hard. The questions on the SAT math exam sometimes don’t make any sense even for us mathematicians. Are we teaching the kids mathematics or are we really teaching them how to take exams. So, I leave you with a thought, what is the true purpose of the SAT exam and what good does it do ? There needs to be another way to measure student performance and preparation.
The math part of the SAT is a joke, it only tests the very basic concepts.

I got a 1280 on my SAT without any preparation at all…does it seem like I would be able to get a 170 on my LSAT with preparation courses, practice tests and lots of studying?

(I’m just entering my sophomore year of college this fall)

Is there even a correlation between SAT and LSAT???

Thanks

Is the extra money worth it? Or should I buy a regular pc laptop? I’m going to use the laptop for school, music, photos, etc. Which one do you recommend?
I’m in high school

I’m a senior in high school and I’m interested in tutoring some of the local elementary/middle school aged children. I just don’t know how much to charge per hour. I know I’m still only in high school but I’m pretty qualified. I have exemplary grades, a lot of baby-sitting experience for children of all ages, and I’m in a program through my school that teaches elementary school kids Spanish once a week.
So any suggestions would be appreciated. Thank you.

I’m taking the ACT and the SAT in September, and I don’t have time to take regular classes, so I thought that online courses would be much more convenient, but I don’t know where to find them, or which preparation center( Kaplan, Princeton, Baron…) has the most effective online prep course.
also, I need these online courses to be during the summer.
Thank You for your help!

most books teaches you about the exam’s strategy, how to solve its questions, what kind of questions you expect and stuff like that and that’s what I don’t want.
I want a book that is really helpfull, I’m a little weak at science and I’m looking for a book that gives me some useful knowlege about science, a book that has almost everything I need to know to get a good grade in the exam, please help.

I want to get a new or used laptop for school. I will be starting in the spring. I want something that I can download my pictures and music onto and that is easy to transport with a long life battery. I would like to purchase a mac but am put off by the high price. Is there an alternative that is just as good but easier on my wallet? Where should I go to buy it?
Ive seen the Acer laptops and was wary about them because I had never heard of them before. Is that a good brand of computers? I would prefer something that does not use windows vista. I have heard many bad things about this program.

I have an ipod nano 4th generation, and I just bought this SAT test prep game, and I can’t get it to download onto my ipod! Like..I can’t drag and drop it onto the place where the eject button is and the charging icon.

HELP?

I have limited time so a quick response is appreciated and please give me and email or something of their’s so I can contact them as well as their name for politeness..
Thank You for your help!

for college but i want to know what these 3 letters means? please help!

laptop was bought used from a school district. a friend updated it for me but it’s still very slow. please help.

Ok here is the deal, I have just setup a trendnet wireless n home router to our motorola modem. We are using two laptops, the one that I setup the router with wired.. and the one that i have been testing the network out with in the other room.

Here is my question, when I disconnect the wired laptop from the router, can i then connect that pc to the wifi? without the router or modem being connected to a pc at all?

because the wired pc sees the wifi, but it just waits and wait when i double click on it. but when i plug it back into the router it connects within seconds.

I’m shopping for a couple of test prep books: SAT,ACT,PSAT,AP etc.

and i was wondering, if i buy a 2009 edition and the next year they release a 2010 edition AM I SCREWED?

I will take the SAT in October, and I’ve hired a tutor. I anticipate there will be a lot of instruction, and it is difficult for me to pay attention to someone if they talk for long periods of time. I’m unsure however of how to make the most out of tutoring, is it doing the outside assignments he gives? is it asking questions?

For those of you who have had tutors for the SAT and improved by 100+ points or more as a result, what did you do with your tutor that allowed you to make that push?

i need a free babysitting course that i can do online, i would also like to be able to print out a certificate afterwards.

I don’t care which are best are which aren’t, but can anyone name the different companies or names that are put on a lot of the books that are for SAT, SAT II, AP preparation, and college information?

I know of some, such as Barron’s, Collegeboard, Cliff’s, and the "Crack the [fill in the blank]" series, but what are others? Thanks.
which are best <i>and</i> which aren’t (told you my brain isn’t working)
i guess html doesn’t work here ><

Because I’m becoming a freshman in high school soon, I’m focusing alot more on my studies. And as all teenagers should know, the SAT’s are an important part of college admissions.

That is why I recently bought the "Official SAT Study Guide" from CollegeBoard. I was wondering, did this study guide help anyone? Was it beneficial? The book is relatively thick so I just wanted to see if it really made anyone’s score increase. And how much did YOUR score increase, if any?

I would prefer it if I got informational responses, thanks :).

so im planning on buying my first laptop, but im having trouble on deciding which one to get.

Im gonna use the laptop for school use and for personal use such as photography-picture editing/internet/email..bla bla bla..no games though..
im thinking about gettin a macbook cause i heard its very useful for everything, but ive been a pc guy all my life, i know everything about xp and windows…so my question is

-is there a laptop in windows/vista that is almost similar to the macbooks??
-also are macbooks easy to get use to..or is it complicated?…

THANKS!!!
