SAT Questions

i’m a guy from india…..and i want to clear sat with a relli gud score …jus lke ne 1 else….but the problem is that i dunno nething bout it…ive just planned to give the exam….and i dont think ill be taking any professional coaching….i wanna no …can i do it in jus 2 3 months…n how much do i need to study in a day…becoz im preparing for my engineering entrance exams also…n i hardly have time but i can spare not more than1 or 2 hrs for sat a day….is it possible….if it is do tell me how…wt do i need to do…some gud resources …n books…n wteva u no bout it…..

I’m a high school junior and I’m taking the SAT probably in May.
I’ve never done any PSAT or SAT prep course before, but I have taken the PSAT twice. First score was 176, second was 181.

So should I take any SAT prep course at all? TestTakers is doing a program at my school, and it’s slightly over 1k. Has anyone heard of it and can tell me if it’s worth the money? What about the Princeton Review course? How much is that one in comparison to TestTakers?

im using laptops in sch and normally my volume will be mute due to some teachings in class. During some online tests,my notebook fan will make some noise and might dirsturbes my classmates??how do i reduce the loudness?

what r some good brands of laptops that u can get for less than 1000 dollars. we r looking into buying a laptop for me for christmas to use for gaming and school use and i want to get something that is going to last me a while but also something that isnt going to put my family in a financial bind

I am from India, and ive been looking through all the sat preparation guides. they have given examples from the US and US history and culture. I have no idea about US history at all. Could I give examples from indian history, Indian independence movement and of people of importance from Indian history?

I was wondering if anybody has used the tutorfox new sat guide, and if it works. One of my friends from school told me about it, and said it was good, but I was wondering if anybody else could relate their experience with the tutorfox sat guide.

i never took sat before,, i am junior in highschool and i am going to take sat that has english, and math which is SAT1 and can i still the take SAT on october 2008, i checked the calender on collegeboard, i didn’t see the dates that availiable for october 2008,,,, And i really never prepared them at all, i just got my collegeboard official SAT book, and trying to study with it,.. and i am really worried about taking the SAT because i am not great test taker and i am still struggling and math and english,.. what should i do? i need some good advice and help

so i’m taking an sat prep course and i was wondering if they really work? is it like the high school ones were you go with your book and then your do work and take some test or is it completely different? ( i know that the sat work will be harder ) thank you

when i connect the power plug to the laptop and press the power button the laptop does not turn on. does the battery have to be charged? or can i just use the laptop with the power plug?

I’m not much familiar with the procedures of SAT. And, I’m not an American resident. So, I have this doubt.

@ Are Physics & Chemistry there for the exam ?
@ Or is it just Maths ?
@ Why the hell are they checking our language skills too much when we are looking for Engineering and pure science-oriented learning ?

P.S: I don’t believe that one needs to critically analyse Shakespearean poetry to become an engineer. Thats awkward.

k for christmas, i got a hp desktop but decided to return it cause i dont need a computer that powerful. So i decided to buy a laptop for school use and around the house. Since i’m getting it for school, i’ll be lookin at some of the netbooks, 10 inch screen. I have no clue what to get, i’ve got it down to around 3 or 4. The main uses i will get out of it will be for schoolwork, music, internet, and maybe some videos and pictures.

-HP Mini 1000 XP
-Samsung NC10
-MSI Wind 10"
-Dell mini 12

Whats should i get? OR or is there a better model that i should get?
And with the best one, is there anything i should know about it?

I’m going to be a junior, and my mom wants me to take a review classes for the SAT/ACT. I only want to focus on one of them, but I don’t know which one to pick. I got a 143 on my PSAT, and a 22 (with projected 23-27 on the ACT) on my PLAN. Have review classes for either test been shown to be more conducive to score improvement than the other? And if not, which one should I take based on my scores?

I was wondering if the books that i am using will actualy be helpful to me, i want to hear from someone that has already taken the test and got good results, or if you know someone that has done well!!!

im using barrons for the literature,biology,and chemistry tests……also for the ACT is the real guide that they published good?

I want to test my laptop’s memory but memtest makes me burn it onto a CD or disk before I can use it. My laptop doesn’t have a floppy or CD drive and I don’t have an external one. So, I am looking for a memory test I can save onto my USB thumbdrive and plug that into my laptop’s USB so that I can run the memory test on bootup. Are there any memory (RAM) tests that do not require CDs or disks?

What are the best ways to study for the SAT tests? Specifically, the best books, preparatory courses, practice tests, helpful studying website sources, etc, etc, etc…Do I need to take the PSAT? Please help, all you high SAT scorers!!!

By the way, I live in California and I hope to attend USC, UCLA, Stanford…? So if you have info on required GPA & SAT scores, that would be helpful…

I have been tutoring SAT and other subjects for over 7 years for a company and thinking about leaving and entering the business world for myself and starting my first location in my condo..i have good qualifications..but would people be turned off by the idea if i gave them a good price?
