Luckily I got this great SAT guide that helped me a lot . So study hard and good luck!

Please provide me a list of as many SAT prep courses in Houston, Texas that you can think of .

Thank you!
I know many people would recommend using books to prepare/on my own. However, I would prefer to take a course because it helps relieve my stress.

PostHeaderIcon Why do graphics card use so much energy?

I’m doing my science fair and I was testing to see what state of a laptop uses the least energy. After my experiments I found out that when playing video games (I used Diablo II Lord of Destruction for my science fair) used the most power which lead to >> Graphics card.

Now I’m having troubles finding out ‘why’ graphics card is theinternal PC component that uses the most power, please help :)
Thanks.

PostHeaderIcon How much does Barron’s help for SAT preparation?

I am trying to figure out which SAT prep book will help me out the most. I’ve asked this question before and different people said that I should try Barron’s, Kaplan, and Princeton Review. I really do not know which one I should choose. I have already tried the collegeboard’s blue book but that did not help me very much. Many people say to go with Barron’s because it "overprepares" you. Can you help me out? If you suggest a prep book, can you please explain why I should choose that one? Thank You!!:)

PostHeaderIcon Laptops, School Payments deductible?

I bought a laptop for college and have been using it strictly for college, along with paying 300$ a month in college payments. Please tell me if I attended school this year that it’s tax deductible?
It would be nice to hear since becoming a college student has become very taxing on my pocket.

PostHeaderIcon SAT/ACT preparation – what book(s)/other help?

I’m out of school now (1+ years, so no school counselor to consult with this), hoping to go to college next year, but before I do that I want to take the ACT and SAT because I know whatever I scored before (which I don’t even know) is a lot less than I could score if I actually studied for them.

— The next testing sessions are October 10th. Is this enough time in general to prepare and study? Unfortunately I am one of those people who have forgotten 90%+ of things they learned in school (math, specifically) so I’d essentially need to be practically relearning everything. I’m not a speedy learner, but I am quite capable when I apply – but who knows, really..

— So what book(s) should I get? If I understand it right, there seems to be yearly "editions" of prep help books out.. so what’s a good one or does that not matter and is any prep book, as long as it isn’t ancient, good enough?

— And for the likes of me who has essentially forgotten how to do stuff (I never took calculus, for example.. and my science background is pretty much nonexistent) or were never taught certain things at all.. are these books even any help? Will they even matter?

PostHeaderIcon 2004-2005 Edition of Kaplan’s SAT II Biology Test Prep Still Good?

I’ve recently borrowed a 2004-2005 version from the library, since I couldn’t find any more recent versions. Is it still good for this year’s test?

I’m not sure if the SAT Subject Tests have changed since 2005.

Also, is it worth it to buy a test prep book, a more recent version, even though I only have two weeks left to prepare?
AP Biology isn’t offered at my school. =/, so I took biology accelerated (honors, but graded on 4.0 scale).

PostHeaderIcon how can i do as well on the sat as people who take a prep course?

i am a junior in high school, and all these people i know are taking sat prep courses. my parents don’t think i need one because i’ve always been a very good standardized test taker, i did very well on the psat sophomore year, and they’re a lot of money for something i can really do by myself. when people take a prep course what do they learn, how many practice tests do they take, what do they work on, etc? should i even bother to follow what a prep course would do if i just have a few trouble areas (the writing multiple choice and the harder math problems)?

PostHeaderIcon This morning my lapotop send me a message that says “PXE-E61: Media test failure, check cable” what is this?

PostHeaderIcon What PSAT study books do you recommend? Also, what book for the SAT?

I’m a sophomore in high school who is very determined to do well in the PSAT and the SAT. I just wanted to know the best books/study guides available for the PSAT and SAT preparations. Please tell me which ones are good and whether you were able to get good SAT/PSAT scores with the book.

By the way, it would be appriciated if you are detailed. Thank you.

PostHeaderIcon Please Help! SAT Preparation?

I’m planning on taking the SAT for the second time. The first time didn’t go so hot; I only scored a 1340, which is absolutely terrible.. but at that time, I didn’t take it seriously either. I really want to score much higher this time, for it will probably be my last go.

I want to know… how did you prepare for your SAT? Ideally, I’d love to get over a 2000 but that is so unrealistic. I’ll settle for a 1600… or heck; a 1500. Do you know of any useful sites, hints, tips, tricks to do well on the SAT? Any information you have would be greatly appreciated.

Thanks in advance!

PostHeaderIcon Is $15/hr a good price in Newark NJ for SAT Math small group tutoring?

I have no formal tutoring experience, however I have help students before in Math. I am in the Essex county area and not far from Newark Penn Station. I am in my 4th yr. at Rutgers University. My classes are twice a week for 3hrs each, for 5 weeks total. I’ve look at numerous tutoring agencies and they are beyond expensive, and there are not that many tutoring services in Essex county, so that might be to my advantage. When I took the SAT I scored 650 out of 800 for the math my first time. I only allow a maximum of 6 students per class, so I can give individual attention but at the same time not put so much pressure on one child. Does this sound like it would be worth /hr. or should I make this negotiable?
