SAT Questions

I currently have Kaplan’s 12 tests, Princeton Review 11 tests, Official Guide, Collegeboard online course, Barron’s How to prepare for the Sat, Sparknote’s 10 tests. I want to know which of those books provide the tests most similiar to the REAL TEST(especially in the Critical reading sections)? And which book provides the best strategies?

Just some other question, do you feel the tutor is very helpful?

I am an SAT tutor, and I have been asked this question a number of times by my students. I have inevitably replied: Dickens, Hawthorne, (F. Scott) Fitzgerald, and (James Fenimore) Cooper, because these are the authors whose works have forced me to crinkle my dictionary’s spine. Does anyone agree/disagree, or know of any other authors that should be added to my list?

I teach SAT Prep and they worked really hard and got ahead and would like to watch a movie. I can’t show just anything. It can’t be R and can’t have nudity.
I have never seen Cheaters and wondered if it would work… any other suggestions about movies that are linked to not cheating… the SAT… test prep or other?

why do i have to test connection ever time I want to connect to xbox live?
Im using my laptop to connect and it really gets on my nerves because whenever an update is available It restarts and then fails cause its not connected. It worked when I started but it doesn’t anymore.

Me and my husband are trying to go back to school and need to buy a new laptop for school use. We have no idea what we need to be looking for we just know we don’t want to spend a fortune on it. Will you please help me? -Thanks-

I have looked up Kaplan, Princeton Review, and SylvanPrep, and have pretty much narrowed it down to pick between those three. OF those which one would you pick to prepare for the 0ct 14 2006 test, and why? Please be detailed, provide details from your own experience, and provide pros/cons. Also, what books would be ideal to supplement the course in my free month of August? I have heard a great deal about Princeton Review books and the College board guide, but are they actually helpful? Again, please provide details from personal experience and pros/cons and perhaps suggestions I may have not heard of yet. As always, I will handpick the winner of the 10 points on the factors of quality, length, and fulfillment of the entire question. Thank you in advance for your time and thought.

please don’t tell me take courses or preparation books because I’m already doing that, I’m just looking for a novel or a magazine that would be useful.

i’m taking the SATs in december and was wondering if just studying multiple amounts of prep books on my own is okay. or would a prep class be good? i just don’t want to waste money on something that won’t really help.

I am going to buy a laptop for graduate school. I will be carting it to school with me every day so would prefer something lighter if at all possible. I also need something that isn’t too terribly slow. I don’t need anything that has lots of memory since I am using it simply for internet, applications like Word and Powerpoint and that’s about it! Any suggestions?

my daughter wants a 1 on 1 sat private tutor. i know it is expensive but i believe it is worth the money for her education. i wanted to know what company has the best private tutors such as testmasters or princeton review or kaplan? or more specifically in the southwest houston/ sugar land area? but if i use a tutor from a company, what would be the best one to choose?

Should I believe the results I get on Barron’s tests, or should I try others as well?

Can anyone help give me tips to prepare for my SAT?
Any kind of books, websites, routines, ANYTHING that you recommend?

Does anyone know? I do well in school, but my SAT score is more or less average. I’ll be a sophomore next year, and last time I took it, I got a 1760/2400.

Ok so my boyfriend is only taking his SAT’s once so i want him to make the best out of it. I have seen different study guides out there but which one do you think is the most helpful that will help with all the sections of the SAT test?

My high school invited me and about 20 other students to retake the PSAT as a junior in hopes of qualifying for the National Merit Scholarship. The school offered counseling and encouragement, but no help with test review.

Which prep course is preferred? Princeton Review or Kaplan or other? Would I benefit from a class review (about 0) or online review or would a good PSAT review book be sufficient? Also, I’ll have the most time to prep during the summer versus early next fall due to heavy AP course load next year, but I wonder if I’ll score higher if I study closer to the time of the exam. Are the classes worth 0?

I’ll also be taking the SAT the same year. Any hints about how best to prepare for both? Thanks.

Sophomore PSAT score 187; class rank top 7% soph year (with AP courses).

My school uses Dell desktops, but Acer laptops. The computers at school seem to work good, so why does everybody say that Dell sucks?
